It’s difficult to describe the way the tone of organic materials record the touch, light and life within your home.
They don’t behave uniformly, they deepen, oxidise and patina over time and with use.
The applied finish like the stain on this huge timber slab dining table has melted and caramelised over the years and in my opinion is now truly alive. Alongside the vintage woven rattan arm chairs, aged with dignity (and in some spots sticky tape!) they add porosity and warmth.

My dining room is designed for long lunches and slow evenings at Loloma. Bare feet, chairs pulled close, warm breeze, heavy crystal and lots of laughs.

Finished enough to begin, never finished enough to end is one my core design beliefs and rings true with all the spaces in my home.

Design doesn’t chase trends it waits for time to do the finishing…time should always be your final layer.
