The homeowner had already tried Goo Gone on this sticker adhesive.

It wasn’t doing much.

For tougher residue like this, we keep Goof Off Pro Strength Remover in the truck.

I put a small amount on a damp rag and the adhesive started coming off almost immediately.

No long soak.
No endless scrubbing.

A few seconds later, the residue was gone.

The last step is important too: wash the glass and frame afterward so you don’t leave chemical residue behind.

Just another day cleaning Windows… Definitely enjoying this fall weather!

Thankful for this industry, and for my favorite tools 🤗 Moerman Excelerator + liquidator squeegee and a @XERO Waterfed RO/DI system with pole with Deep Scrub brush/pad all from @windowcleaner

Field test time.

We had bleach react with the zinc coating on the underside of these galvanized steel panels, leaving behind some pretty nasty oxidation staining.

I picked up some Aluminum & Stainless Steel Bright from Northern Tool for about $30 to see if we could clean it up.

I diluted it roughly 1:3 and applied it with a towel so I could control exactly where the chemical went without dripping or overspraying everything underneath us.

Light agitation. Wipe it clean.

The oxidation came right off.

Afterward, we applied WD-40 as a temporary protective coating to help keep moisture off the affected area and reduce the chance of corrosion.

Old trick. New application.

I’ve been experimenting with some different chemicals from @NorthernTool lately, and this one definitely earned its spot on the shelf.

Just remember: restoration chemicals can damage surrounding materials too. Follow the label, wear the appropriate PPE, test first, and control your runoff and overspray.
