June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and at The Basketball Fix, we’re committed to shining a light on one of the most pressing — yet often silent — issues facing men today.

In an era where social media gives us constant access to others 24/7, the pressure, anxiety, and mental strain can become overwhelming — not just for everyday people, but also for professional athletes, coaches, and others involved in high-performance sport.

Too often, those in the public eye are expected to absorb abuse and criticism under the false justification of fame, fortune, or visibility. Let’s be clear — no amount of success makes someone immune to mental health challenges. No level of recognition makes it acceptable to be treated without respect or humanity.

This month is a powerful reminder that we need to stand together — not against one another. Check in on your mates. Have the hard conversations. Let people know they’re not alone.

Because real strength is shown in vulnerability, and real change starts with us.
