Welcome to my series, No Safety Net — a mom at 52 with 2 small businesses. 🌸

I own my own floral business — and I still freelance for other talented and experienced florists. Last week it was with @inessanicholsdesign and to my surprise it was for @victoriassecret

Every job teaches me something I bring home to Blush and to Cuatro Mamas: a technique, a standard, a new way of seeing the work. It keeps me sharp, and it helps build my business.

That’s what no safety net means. I’m my own boss, so nobody’s handing me the answers — the pressure of figuring it all out is mine.

But so is the luxury: being there for my daughter, on my own schedule, in a life I built on purpose.

Pressure and freedom. Same coin. This series is both — the unfiltered version of growing my businesses at 52.

Instead of commenting for a DM on how to grow yours. Figure out what your passion is and go for it. In the mean time support or refer a small business like mine. 💐🌶️

A full circle moment. Mt. Washington is where is all began. So many seeds were being planted and I didn’t even know it.

Ms. Make it Happen this weekend. With THE most hard working team. I had the privilege to have full creative direction with the florals in THE most incredible private home in Lodi, Ca near my hometown, to top it off Paloma and Arin got to be there to experience it all. Being able to teach the girls to be Miss Make it Happen’s is my life’s work. I’m feeling so incredibly blessed and full of gratitude for this one and I’m thankful to my best friend Alex for including me on this collaboration and trusting me to bring the vision to life

Not every wedding needs our design fingerprint on it.
Kara + Alec already knew what they wanted their wedding to feel like — romantic, playful, a little vintage and very much them.
And honestly? We love that.
Our job isn’t always to come in and reinvent the vision.
Sometimes our job is to take all of those beautiful ideas, all of those vendors, all of those tiny details and make sure they actually come together on the wedding day.
The vintage china. The pink cake. The flowers. The candlelight. The little personal details tucked throughout the room.
They created a wedding that felt distinctly theirs.
We helped make sure they could actually enjoy it.
Because good planning doesn’t always need to be the thing you notice.
Sometimes it’s what allows everything else to shine.

Flower with me.

Giving a little bit more all adds up. Creativity is a gift and I got it from my mama. I hope Paloma learns to do a bit extra too.

My favorite place is wherever she is, surrounded by the people we love.
She originally wanted to have a debut and graduation party, but in the end, she chose to celebrate in our front yard—the place where we’ve always gathered and created some of our best memories together. So we did. ❤️🩷

JAKE JONAS 5.23.26 💙🏀 - A labor of love for my client, my son. Words can’t express how grateful I am to every vendor for bringing so much care and for going above and beyond my wildest dreams. I want do it over and over again. Thank you most importantly to my team, who is incredible on every job but this was so special.
