Summer 2026 owes me nothing. ☀️ FIFA World Cup. Summertime Chi & NYC. Martha’s Vineyard. Fun with family and friends. Pool dates, bike rides, and swimming lessons. 🌊 Awards, books, press, art, hydrangeas galore, endless laughs, sun tans, and a few surprises. Lost my Ralph, some business, and a little confidence, oh and I cried cried cried so many tears. 😭 But JOY carried me through it all. So blessed to say goodbye to the last summer of my 30s in my happy place 🇰🇪 and in the palm of His hand. 🙏🏾 I couldn’t think of a better song to close this chapter on. 😌 #grateful

We had 48 hours in Chicago and baby when I say we did not play about making this trip last 👏🏾

This was my first time going to Chicago so you know we had to hit up the boats and try all the good food! Clearly a time was had a we are definitely coming back again. 🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️

If you ever been, which place would you recommend us to try? Or is there a place you would want us to visit next? Lmk! 🫶🏾

So my July went a lil something like this….!! While this has been quite the lit month, the highlight of my month was being accepted to Hampton University (HamptonU Global) to pursue my PhD in Educational Management! Anyone who knows me well knows I’ve been eyeing this specific program for YEARS. Well friends, I finally took the leap….

…and if I was going to pursue my PhD, it was GOING to be at an HBCU. 😉

I’m not pursuing this PhD just to be called “Dr. Kway”; I’m pursuing this because Education IS my calling. There is work still to be done for my people in Education—research to be developed and studied, systems that need change, and impact to be made with US in mind. I’m doing this for EVERY child, student, and family I have served over the past 13 years, and those who I’ve yet to even meet.

For me, this degree is bigger than the title. I’m doing this for The Culture. And I promise to make you all proud.

Keep me in your prayers as I embark on this journey…and I’ll be leaning on all the Black doctors and doctoral students/candidates while on this journey, so send alllll the nuggets you can! Also, check out the rest of these pics because I’m sure this will be the most outside I’ll be for the foreseeable future. 😂🙈🥹

God is good.
