POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The conversation in the new article by our contributing writer Ana Gabriela Batista moves through mysticism, literature, meditation, colour and instinct of artist Benedetta Manzino (@bm.artstudio), as well as the discipline of “buona la prima” - Manzino’s refusal to repaint or return to what has already been made. Her practice is immediate, intuitive and deeply personal, yet its vocabulary reaches outward, toward questions of perception, consciousness and the invisible.

“I can feel the need for the painting to be handled like a real oil paint or more of an ethereal creature coming out of the fog. They speak to me, and I have a good intuition or ear to catch that sound,” Manzino tells us.

Manzino approaches painting as an act of intuition, channeling and perceptual transformation. Her oil paintings move between translucency and density, geometry and atmosphere, the visible and the unseen. Built from four joined panels whose seams remain deliberately visible, each work becomes what she calls an “Air Portal”: a threshold through which colour, form and consciousness can enter into dialogue.

some artists you come across and you just know their work deserves a room of its own.

@bm.artstudio is the first artist we’re representing, and building her space alongside her has been everything art lab was made for.

we won’t try to describe her work here. it lands harder when you see it yourself.

her page is live, link in bio🍃
