This autumn, Straco House opens its doors in Sint-Martens-Latem. A new office housing both the real estate and private equity divisions of Straco, designed in its entirety by Merckx-Holvoet Architects, interior and exterior as one.

The design is characterized by a distinguished orthogonal grid and a rhythm of wooden columns across the façade, translating structure into a warm and distinctive architectural identity.

A first glimpse of the exterior. More to follow.

DE Residence.

@jacobsenarquitetura
Making the most of the connection with the lake next to the house, this renovation project for an old family residence in Belgium sought to integrate the built space with the surrounding nature. Located on a large plot of land with no close neighbors and a dense forest surrounding it, complete privacy is ensured at the DE House.

Due to local legislation, most of the walls on the façade had to be maintained in relation to the original project, whose old roofs created a volume that tended towards verticalization. With the use of our thin roofs and eaves, we made the house more horizontal, creating a visually lighter relationship with the land.
