It’s been more than 30 years since I first discovered Jesse Cook on a CD in my hotel room in Québec City, so it feels fitting that I’m writing this note from a hotel in that same city. Yet another full-circle moment to keep me on track ✨

Back then, I simply couldn’t unhear this new guitar tone and language, so I made it my mission to get involved and share his sound with the wider world, first as an agent and now as his artist manager. I can’t count the ways this journey has changed my life, and I’m grateful for the growth and the ongoing adventure.

I learn something every day, and partnership in its many forms is at the core of this effort. With well over a thousand concerts performed and more than a billion streams and views of his songs so far, the demand is now truly global.

At the heart of all of this is Jesse, a master of his craft with a commitment to truth in sound that is exceptionally rare. Born in Paris, schooled in Toronto, and regularly transplanted to Arles, France (literally next door to where the Gypsy Kings were developing their sound), Jesse has charted a parallel path to bring Spanish guitar to prominence. Random, but not really: his guitars are handcrafted by Felipe Conde, one of the world’s finest Spanish guitar makers.

This week, that growing global fanbase gets a digital taste of past the breakwater, which Jesse has spent the past two years creating on a remote island in the heart of the Canadian Shield. I know every note and nuance was refined and mixed (often repeatedly) before each song was given a name and sent out to meet the world.

It’s a well-brewed measure of space and time for the busy world we’re all trying to process.

And, last night , Jesse premiered his newest music to a sold out crowd and launched a tour that will carry his special taste flavor of Canada onto more than 20 countries over the next 2 years.

Lining up the dominoes is what I really get to do, and I’m so grateful to our various teams, our partners, our families, our friends, and all the fans who make this journey possible.

My debut EP ‘Detached Observations’ is out now!!

I’ve been chipping away at this project for a while, recording in London, Bath and Nashville, and I’m feeling extremely lucky to have worked with some amazing people along the way. A massive thank you to @setond @lukesitalsingh @elliottblaufuss @obolewis, and to everyone who’s been part of bringing these songs to life.

Aye, can’t quite believe it’s finally out there. Let me know which one is your favourite 😊
