Let kids be kids🎮🧩

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” - Fredrick Douglass

Be mindful of the exposure you give kids, if they fail that means we failed as a community 🫂🖤

If you’ve been looking for something fun meaningful and actually powerful for your kids to experience in Atlanta we just found the spot 💜✨

Inside the National Center for Civil and Human Rights is a whole experience that brings civil rights human rights and advocacy to LIFE in the most fun interactive way

We got to attend the soft opening and listen… this is not your average outing. Kids are creating learning moving thinking and stepping into what it really means to use their voice and become leaders in their own communities

It officially opens next week and we HIGHLY recommend adding this to your list

So grateful we got to experience this and we already know we’ll be bringing our youth back because this is how you raise leaders right here

Atlanta go check this out you don’t want to miss it ✨

Flashback Friday 📸

Last Friday, CRG was in the building at the BMI Restoration & Representation Summit.

The summit brought together elected officials, criminal justice stakeholders, formerly incarcerated people, restorative practitioners, and survivors of crime to build new approaches to criminal justice right here in Georgia.

Our team connected with nonprofits, engaged with young community members, and shared the work CRG has been doing across the state.

One of our organizers said, "The passion in that room was real. And so was the interest in CRG."

Restorative justice is a community conversation as much as it is a policy one. And CRG will keep showing up wherever those conversations are happening to listen and learn how we can support our people.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭… 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫.

A reminder that the solutions already exist,
they’re just underfunded, overlooked, and too often unheard.

Shoutout to @bmigeorgia for creating space for real conversations and real solutions. At the Restoration & Representation Summit, I met people on the ground doing the real work every single day preventing violence, supporting returning citizens, and helping families heal.

And here’s what’s clear to me:

𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤. 𝐖𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠.

As your next State Representative, one of my priorities is simple:

👉🏾 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤
👉🏾 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
👉🏾 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬

Because safer communities don’t start in buildings…
they start with people who care enough to show up.

I’m running so the people doing the work finally get the support they deserve.

At the @bmigeorgia representation and restoration summit yesterday I got to experience walking back into a cell in the form of an amazing exhibit constructed by @teenzonpoint
It was very realistic and brought back some memories. For 17 years, this was my life.
