In 1969, a group of kids at Palms Park in West Los Angeles turned a neighborhood park into a homemade dirt track and helped launch the sport of BMX. This incredible true story is a reminder that the greatest sports stories don’t always happen beneath bright lights and in front of roaring crowds. Sometimes they begin in your own backyard with a handful of friends and a summer they’ll never forget. #linkinbio

🔧 Swipe to see the ultimate back alley resurrection! ➡️🚲🍂

Found this early '80s AMF Hawk frame literally buried under years of dirt and leaves. For the movie buffs out there, you’ll recognize this design immediately-it’s the exact frame Mikey rides in The Goonies (1985)! 🎬🍿Never Say DIE!

Seeing where it started, I deliberately skipped the paint booth. That heavily weathered raw-metal patina took decades of nature's help to create, and it has way too much character to cover up.

Instead, I focused on a full mechanical rescue: polished up the remaining chrome, threw on a fresh upgraded crankset, new bars, and finished it off with a beautiful, straight set of vintage 20” Lester alloy mags.

To quote Indiana Jones: "It belongs in a museum!" 🤠
