I present to you all; the beautiful cover art for my debut album “Essence of a Man” painted by my talented friend Bo Prather. The cover of the project is special to me, and I’m excited to finally properly share it with everyone. I also have some thank yous to make.
First off, Bo, thank you for letting me use your work. I can’t express enough how much it means to me, and you allowed me to finish the process of making this album and give it a visual identity. That’s something I’ll never forget.
To Bret, you and I are so locked in bro. You’ve constructed the soundscape for everything I’ve written on for years, the bond we share is deeper than deep. We’re invested in each others artistic fulfillment and spiritual journeys. It’s a type of connection that only comes around once in a lifetime. Without you there’s no album, there’s no Sam Cove the rapper. You helped me build myself back up when I didn’t know if I’d ever make music again. For that I’m in your debt, forever. Thank you, truly.
To Georgia, you’ve been one of the most consistent presences through the process of making this, designing a visual identity not just for me but for our whole team, curating the album with us as well as being a shoulder for me to lean on, and a productive presence in my life in a way that inspires me and opens my mind to so much. I really really could not have done it without you.
To Nehemiah, we’ve built our identities as rappers hand in hand, we’re trauma bonded, we’ve pushed each other past our limits. When I was in a pinch and needed a feature to complete the title track, I knew I could count on you. And it’s beautiful. Thank you for your words, for your inspiration, your general attitude, I learn a lot from you just being you, and it went in to every aspect of this project (including the name change 😎)

The last two months traveling to WA & MA were a whirlwind of beauty, joy, love, and sweet memories!!! I take way too many photos so the song is a bit ironic but I’m feeling super grateful for these little souvenir snapshots :)

Thank you so much to my incredible team for making this song possible. It took everyone’s focus and attention to detail to make it what it is. I’m beyond grateful. We got a whole project coming soon so prepare to get sick of me.
