Today’s tasty beverage and sketch was done at @boba_binge Uptown location. Today was sunny and 69 degrees so the drink had to be a peach oolong tea with grass jelly. I ordered ahead and I arrived early so I knocked this sketch out in about 10 mins while waiting. The drink was tasty, refreshing, and had a lot of sweet peach fruit. #urbansketchers

‼️ NEW CAFE ALERT: Binge Coffee House has quickly become my favorite spot for Vietnamese coffee and matcha creations. After the success of their first location in downtown Berkeley, the Vietnamese spot has officially expanded to Telegraph Ave offering more space and seating. After our Vietnam trip last fall, I’ve been dying to find a good Vietnamese coffee shop nearby. I am so pleased that Binge has Egg Coffee! Plus their matcha menu is a dream. An immigrant from Vietnam, Minh left his career in software engineering during the pandemic to pursue his entrepreneurial dream - opening a cafe. He opened Boba Binge in Uptown Oakland in 2023 with his parents. Wanting to expand on the concept, they designed Binge Coffee House to feature an extensive menu with Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks. Today, Minh runs all three East Bay locations with his parents. I love that it’s a local family biz! finally found the bay area’s community goods!! 🌿 we already know binge is every uc berkeley student’s go-to, but their new double matcha is on another level. It’s smooth, just the right amount of creamy and you cant TASTE the matcha. + they have the BEST food and snacks! of course we had to get their beef banh mi - super juicy meat that pairs perfectly with the matcha and their pandan waffle is an absolute staple. It’s the perfect viet snack to munch on while studying/working.
