Sometimes I struggle with restraint and have a hard time feeling like an edit is truly done. For this one I tried to embrace that feeling and keep things simple, focusing on the orb and experimenting with a new texture.

Dani found this spot randomly during our shoot and it felt perfect for a quieter image.

Starting a new series in collab with Dani! The theme for this one is feeling incomplete and the many different forms that can take. Dani brought every idea to life and made each shot perfect!

One source of that feeling for me in the past has been social media & figuring out the right relationship with it to avoid falling into that mindset. I wanted to bring that into the edit through the phones, so I modeled a bunch of different ones to feel familiar without being too identifiable.

The cat was inspired by a postcard I found in Vienna that an artist sent to their brother, featuring a smoking cat tired of his BS 🐱 I have it hanging in my house and pass it every day, but while working on this edit I really stopped to look at it. The exhausted energy felt perfect for Dani’s power drain here.

Swipe to see some of the inspo behind it.

Mahalo to the #ohana that came out and watched @tiffany_hokulani 's #flagfootball game. 🏈 Hokulani played the entire game as #quarterback and on defense too. Nine girls on DVHS played their hearts out and unfortunately were robbed of the win...not kidding and beyond frustrating at this point...just watch a couple of the videos. Regardless, we appreciate the cheers and love, fam! 💕🤗 Hokulani is a beast! #28

Beautiful flower, beautiful girl…

We started with one orchid but I felt the image needed alittle more. I’m not one for composting but I’m always inspired by @b3cktastic creative images. I’m happy with this one as I now have more appreciation for what we can do with images with a tool such as Photoshop. So let the flowers rain…

Adding a sentiment to the end of Filipino Heritage Month, I love this photoshoot to display a bit of our Filipino culture 🇵🇭.

The Maria Clara dress is the traditional and aristocratic national dress of the Philippines. A cropped version is a Barong Balero, which is the attire in frame, I feel, is a modern take on the traditional.

LAVENDER HAZE ☁️

Repost, share, save, all the things if you enjoyed this set! 🥹

Sometimes I find myself thinking about past shoots and how today’s me would edit them. This photoshoot is with Dani from two years ago. It’s insanely different from my original edit! The purple mixed with Taylor Swift playing on Spotify is the inspiration for this. You can see a bit of my workflow and my originals in this carousel.

I’ve been really into patterns lately so of course I added some and yes we are still big fans of textures here. The pattern is a floral wallpaper which if you know me you know I love florals. The flower petals are assets and the main flower in her hair and on frame is a stock image.

Please leave Dani some love in the comments or else 😇💐 She did amazing on this shoot and I remember she was so patient with me as this was when I was still kinda new to photo meetups in the Bay Area and I believe this was my first time meeting her. 🥹 it was a @btlphotomeets and one of my very first studio shoots!!

Day 3
…
A lil BTS and a small reunion with friends from a workshop that I put together back in January! I met Dani thru a photomeet I couple years ago at Yerba Buena. Through her I met Zelle, who both volunteered her car and stepped in as a featured model at my Jan workshop. Originally the shoot was mainly focused on Zelle then I encouraged her to bring a friend which she later invited Dani. I knew the shoot was gonna be fun having the two together. We were crazy enough to pull up to a parking garage near a BART station to also feature their GR86 and Civic Type R.

Thank you for taking the time to read and enjoy this bts edit. Preciate ya and have a happy Saturday!!
