Here is the full four minutes of hang time.

This is 29 years of hopeful dreaming and crushing defeats smashed into a four minute presentation. This piercing moment has left me overjoyed and transformed. I recognise so many layers within this collection: born out of my grief and my desire to create work that makes life worth living; finding acceptance in the vulnerability of being an alien forced to assimilate into a dominant culture; alien crash sites; cenotes of the yucatan. speculative human evolution; border crossing indigenous descendants; LGBTQ+ activism; zero waste design logic; 1950’s alien invasion thrillers; queer art.

I’m overjoyed and terrified of what could come next, but in-spite of insecurity and fear is the power of courage. That being said, we have a smattering of models whom brought this collection to life with their personality, swagger, skill, and talent. I had pages of sketches from 2023-2026 yet nothing started to assemble until my models were chosen for me in July. When revealed I was stunned by their beauty, and petrified at the idea of fitting so many varied bodies with my burgeoning skillset. However, in the end it all came together into a showing that pushed me to stand on my beliefs of inclusivity and respect.

Again, this couldn’t have formed without the help of so many friends who offered their help and brought their best to help me backstage: where my overwhelm and sweat covered the room before the models arrived, yet I was carried and support so effortlessly by friends that truly reminded me of what a team can do and feels like. I’m still working on the brain freezes and communication: luckily our lead dresser Victoria skill and knowledge held it all together. In all having emotionally competent, intelligent, talented individuals makes light work of large problems, and for that I am truly thankful.

Truly, I am so grateful for the communication and encouragement that I have received over the last month of this collection’s physical creation. Thank you to Stella Blue for holding it down with this brilliant video.

Early bird gets the stage!!!!

This is For:

All the people that are living with abusers.
Who are too afraid to leave because they were twisted by the hands that made them.
This is for all the people who wanted to die and kept living inspite of it all.
It’s for all the people that have lost the loves of their lives suddenly, and so swiftly that the earth still shakes when they get out of bed.
This is for all the people who wanted to say goodbye but couldn’t get the chance to pick up the phone.

Our second take

This is for all the breadcrumbs that you had to sweep to keep yourself alive in a home that was broken while the doors locked tight at night.

This is for all the hope that never lifted a sail.

This is for all the beds that lie empty when two people lay next to each other.

It’s for all the people that had to no one to call when they knew everyone was home.

This is for the kids that had holes in their bellies when they were too full to sit and speak.

This is for the bullets that were left in the chamber.

This is for the abandoned friends and the love letters that never made it into apologies and get togethers.

This is for the empty nesters who never really knew when the quiet became so loud.

This is for the hopeless that look in the mirror and wonder if the me that stares back is the one that gets to make the right choice or has to move on.

This is for the people who wanted to kill themselves while their parents watched tv, thought of going into their rooms to hang themselves before bed: just to let the stink of putrid blood reach their parents noses in the morning.

This is for all the ones that never got to move on
This is for all the people that
