@theofficialdalia asked me what I wanted to try on Wednesday night. I think I did Super(man).

Since starting beginner pole in April, I’ve progressed to a new level every 8 weeks, so it’s been a pretty wild journey already. 🪩

But beyond the tricks, the progress and the performances, pole has taught me so much about myself.

It’s given me the confidence to embrace parts of myself I used to be afraid of showing because I was worried about being judged. I’ve come to realise that so much of the judgement we fear from others is actually a reflection of our own inner dialogue. We anticipate what people might think of us, hold ourselves back because of those assumptions, and sometimes become our own harshest critics before anyone else has even had the chance to form an opinion.

Pole has challenged me to let go of that. To take up space. To trust myself. To explore my sensuality, femininity and strength without feeling like I need to justify any of it.

It’s shown me that I’m capable of so much more than the limitations I once placed on myself, and that confidence often comes from being willing to try something that scares you before you feel ready.

The community surrounding pole has also been such a beautiful part of this journey. The encouragement, support and genuine celebration of one another make such a difference. 🤍

I’m still learning, still growing and still finding my flow, but I’m so proud of the version of me who walked into that first beginner class in April, with no idea how much she would grow, both on and off the pole.

Here’s to doing things scared, embracing every version of ourselves, and discovering what we’re capable of when we stop letting the fear of being perceived hold us back. 🩰🤍

Featuring a terrible flexed foot wiggle to get into the vertical allegra and food cramp in the jallegra but I just didn’t have it in me to do it all again at this point in the training session 😅 Sever skin loss had already occurred🤣
