My heart is full. It is fascinating the ways grief can meet joy, and how the swirl of emotions ultimately bring us to gratitude. I had an awesome time on the coast connecting with the youth at James Thompson school and Brooks high school to present some hip hop workshops. I was grateful to share in a salmon fry and learn from the Tla’amin Nation community. I nestled into the magic and strength of inspiring women who I have such deep love and admiration for ❤️. I picked mushrooms, explored forests and jammed with talented homies! I appreciated attending the incredible gathering and cultural celebration in the shishalh Nation Longhouse. It’s always so dope to hear the homies sing🙌. The stories, songs and knowledge shared from shishalh Nation elders and community will stay with me. This trip allowed me to process some grief around the loss of a dear friend Sid as someone who encouraged and taught me so much - it was comforting to hear people honour his name, walk our shared favourite trails and I feel the sunny days were a blessing from him. Life is incredibly vast. Sitting on the ferry feeling the sunshine on my face, watching the ocean ebb and flow, observing the land shift and the sky change… I am reminded that even when we loose people we love - the energy of Spirit remains. It is a wondrous thing to be alive - I feel so deeply reminded of this. Thank you to all the beautiful beings and family who make my journeys along the Coast so special 🙌🌊. #hiphop #gratitude #eachoneteachone #culture #music #bars #emcee #community #celebrate #rap #womeninhiphop #conscioushiphop #freestyle #dowhatyoulove #expression #artist #shareart #stayalive #zhethefree

IT’s photos like this one taken by @danmathieu that make me remember why skateboarding stole my heart that fateful day in 1987. I recall bombing the hill by my house with my pal @bobby.blonde.9 just like this! and I haven’t stopped riding the useless wooden toy since! #lostboysporvida! #magicexists! {germ}
