New video coming soon?!? Which blade are you picking? Bowie by @bobby_raines_2 or a combo of a @coldsteelknives XL Vaquero and a Recon 1 Tanto? Let me know in the comments.

I am Sonslave — bound yet free
Dangerous hands on bended knee
Sword at rest till the Father commands
Power restrained by scar pierced hands
I am Sonslave — fierce but mild
Guardian heart for the weak and child
Break me, send me, spend my breath
Love unto fury, faith unto death

I entered into commercial health and fitness as a trainer, then manager, at some of the biggest companies in big-box fitness. This was for a singular purpose in mind: to further deepen my understanding of the human body from a developmental standpoint. In such a setting, the physical and psycho-social aspects of human development goes beyond the theoretical. Coaching needs to be to the point, practical, and without fuss.

In Chinese martial arts, a Sifu is expected to not just dismantle the human body through martial skill, but also heal and develop it. For the entirety of one’s life.

In this episode with my good colleague James Nottingham IV, one of the emerging voices in the martial arts community with a holistic and intellectual skill (matched only by his incredible martial prowess and strength), we discuss the aspect of my Estocada Method that integrates multi-planar edged weapons work with the Spartan existence of progressive strength training. Here we begin to scratch the surface of the mission of Estocada Warriorship - the complete development of the human being throughout the entirety of one’s existence.

Here my skill-sets start the merge on one discussion: both as strength and conditioning coach and martial arts instructor.

Some evening Bowie work with "Ladyhawke" and "Stargazer". Cold steel trainer making things a little safer.
"Stargazer" (bottom right) was the first Bowie I made, almost a decade ago. It's no @bobby_raines_2 but I still love it.
And "Ladyhawke" (top left) was a gift from my wife for Christmas last year.
I highly recommend checking out @rolandoestocada YouTube channel, specifically his Bowie videos.
And @tacticaltavern docu-series with the great James Keating on the application of blades and especially the Bowie.

When you were young: you wanted to be like Bruce Lee.

When you get older, you realize you were training to look like Bolo all along.

Bowie Knife Back Cut Training
Make sure to check out the videos we did with Master At Arms James Keating on the bowie knife!

I made this hybrid FMA trainer from a boxing reflex bag. Works great for enhancing timing and targeting on something moving target… not a static “BOB”

Thank you to @lynncthompson_official for the Bowie Knife trainers!
