#waybackwednesday 💋👠 #flashback to my #debut #album
#theworthofmysoul .... As a young #singer #songwriter in New York City, I wanted to #create a #record that would stand the test of time.... something that my fans would love SO much that they would keep it on #repeat #play .... and not just for the FANS ... I wanted an album that I would love, not just at that time, but in the future.
As I write this post, I am holding the ONE physical copy I have left of this CD ... and I am literally overwhelmed with pride, love and gratitude for every song on this record, and every person that helped me imagine, write, and bring this project to life.
Currently in the works is a fully remastered #anniversary edition of these songs ....on #vinyl #cd and for the first time ever ... it will also be available worldwide online for #streaming and #download on every digital distribution channel !!! #dreams come true 🌟✨

#thankful thursday ✨💫 I owe SUCH a debt of #gratitude to #fredmcfarlane (RIP) ... Fred was my very first musical director and was an monster #musician awesome #producer and #songwriter ( « Show Me Love » Robin S « Somebody Else Guy » ) & an extraordinary #jazz #piano player. 💕✨He was also one of the kindest, most caring souls I have ever met in my entire life. Not only did he MD almost all my first live shows at Honeysuckles, Chazz n Wilson’s, and all those spots on the upper west side, Fred also put together an #allstar band of #legendary jazz #musician for me when I was honored to open for @iamreginabelle at @bluenotenyc ... Fred opened so many doors for me and also introduced me to one of my favorite #drummers of ALL TIME @hamptownmusic who went on to play many, many shows with me .... which blew my little young mind because his “real” gig was playing for #luthervandross @luthervandrossofficial !!! I learned SO much about music from Fred, and it was an honor to sing #showmelove at a wonderful #celebration #concert honoring him, @realmarcusmiller @valeriesashford @raychewlive ..... and many other NYC musicians.

Fred’s legacy of love lives on in ALL those who were fortunate enough to know him. What a #gift it was to work with him as I was just starting out in the biz. .... and what a true honor to share the stage again with @bobbydiii #spaceman Patterson #johnadams @keithanthonyfluitt
#grateful beyond words ...

So much #fun !!! Had to #travel #aroundtheworld and sneak #backstage to catch up to this next #rockstar #pianoman 🌟BOBBY DOUGLAS @bobbydiii !!! #iloveyou mannn and I am so crazy #grateful for you, your #songs !!! So y’all Bobby and I met while I was working in Harlem at the @apollotheater .... A lot of people don’t know there is an AMAZING #recording #studio at the Apollo .... one look at that NEVE BOARD with its flying faders would make any of you @neveaudiophiles swoon! Well I fell in love with that studio and my journey as a #songwriter began right there in the BEST possible way.
The crazy part is that I didn’t truly think of myself as a songwriter but as fate would have it - the studio manager saw me writing lyrics down in the theatre and he gave me an offer I couldn’t refuse! “You Write Em, I’ll record Em! ((In that EPIC studio!!!!!!!)) ... That’s the moment Bobby Douglas popped into my world with his huge heart and endless smile! He had a track he wanted me to write to, along with another that he wanted me to record ( 🎶Mornin Noon & Night🎶) .... so I got right to work and almost overnight, I had two gorgeous ballads on my hands ... Fate and Destiny really made magic here ..... Bobby, without knowing it, had started me off on writing and recording my debut album << THE WORTH OF MY SOUL>> Bobby’s tune, and the one we wrote together 🎶What R We Doin🎶 are to this day along some of my favorite recordings ... just gorgeous!!! Bobby! I love you to the moon and back! 💫Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! ..... to hear those songs... and many others from those early years ... pop on over to
