You know some people say that bands without any original members in them aren’t as good as they were back in the day, but I’d disagree with that statement and say that this group carries on a legacy that even the original band members are proud of and the group I’m talking about of course is none other than Humble Pie!

Originally formed from the origins of The Small Faces, The Herd, Spooky Tooth and The Apostolic Intervention, Humble Pie was born in 1968 when frustrated musicians Steve Marriott of The Small Faces and Peter Frampton of The Herd were upset they were considered teen idols and not serious musicians. So, along with Greg Ridley of Spooky Tooth and Jerry Shirley of The Apostolic Intervention they formed a band that would up the ante from their previous work and focus on more hard, blues and bogie rock. Throughout the years they were together, they scored 1 number 4 hit titled “Natural Born Bugie” and also had success with 4 top 50 albums, including “As Safe as Yesterday Is,” “Performance Rockin’ the Fillmore,” “Smokin’,” and “Eat It.”

As the years went by however, some band members found success in other groups or as a solo artist instead, while others unfortunately passed away, including Marriott and Ridley. But the legacy of the band lives on however in a new version of the group consisting of musicians hand-picked by Shirley himself with the blessings of both Frampton and later band member Clem Clempson of Colosseum. This fantastic and action-packed new group consists of Jim Stapley on guitar and lead vocals, Ivan “Funkboy” Bodley on bass and backing vocals, Bobby Marks on drums and Dave “Bucket” Colwell on lead guitar and backing vocals as well, who was also on the band’s last album with Ridley titled “Back on Track” in 2002.

The band was miraculous at performing all the original Humble Pie classics in detail plus more, including songs just like the before mentioned “Natural Born Bugie” as well as memorable rockers such as “The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake,” “30 Days in the Hole” and “I Don’t Need No Doctor” to just only name a few 🤘If you would like to hear the full story just go to my FB where it’s told at ✌️#humblepie
