Madrid 🇪🇸

One of the questions I’ve always been fascinated by is why Spanish football consistently develops players with such a deep understanding of the game.

So rather than only studying it from a distance, I wanted to see it up close. A few days in Madrid visiting clubs, watching training, exchanging ideas and seeing Atlético Madrid–Osasuna.

The start of a wider journey into Spanish football; speaking with coaches, methodology experts and clubs about how game intelligence is recognised, developed and trained. The best way to understand a football culture is to spend time inside it.

🇳🇿 From observing the preparation and spending time around the environment, to experiencing one of sport’s great rivalries on game day.

🏈 Different sport. Different culture. Plenty of lessons to take back into my own world.

Success leaves clues. Sometimes you have to step outside your own sport to find them.

🏉 Different sport. Different culture. A different perspective.

🇿🇦 Spending some time observing, listening and learning from one of the most fascinating sporting environments in the world.

🪽 There is always more behind sustained success than what happens on the field…
