A Leica M6 with a Konica M-Hexanon 50mm f2 lens in the hands of @bobkonos2021 , who kindly stopped by my exhibition last week. His M6 is the reissue that’s currently in production. Nice half case, too. Thanks, Bob! Nice chatting with you in person finally.

Old Leica Day at @mastcoffeeco in Sacramento. @bobkonos2021 and I both brought our 1930s Leicas; mine on the left, his on the right. Both still working and going strong despite being almost a century old. #oldcameras #leica #leicai #coffeeride

Went out today to shoot that roll of very expired (June 1976) Kodak film. It was bright and sunny, which I hoped would make for better exposures. Shot the whole roll on a ride to Midtown with @bobkonos2021 and then processed it in monobath chemistry from @filmphotographyproject I was amazed with the results, considering how old the film was and all the things that might have happened to it in the years since it was made. #film #filmphotography #veryexpiredfilm #expiredfilm #mediumformatfilm #kodakverichromepan #lomolca120 #homedeveloped #samedayphotography

OK, I know this is going to sound like that old "bought a camera for almost nothing" joke, but this is totally true. I was out garage sale hunting with @bobkonos2021 in East Sacramento, and the last place we stopped was an estate sale. When we arrived, we asked as we always do if there were any cameras for sale. "Sorry, no," was the reply, but we decided to take a look anyway. I checked out all of the rooms ... nothing. Then I walked into the last room before leaving the house and looked around. There, on the bottom shelf, next to a boxed Pentax Auto Zoom camera, was a box for a Yashica T4 Super D. I immediately picked up it up. Felt like there was something in it, so I opened it. Inside was a camera in a Yashica soft case ... and inside the soft case was, indeed, a Yashica T4! In nice condition! The price? $2. I was floored. If the camera worked, this would rank as my best-ever garage sale/thrift store camera purchase, since T4s in good condition are going for $500 and up on eBay. I quickly paid the $2 and headed home. A quick roll and develop, and I was able to confirm that the camera does indeed work! Focus, exposure, and film advance all as they should be. A few issues so far, but I'm chalking that up to the fact that it's probably been sitting in a drawer for a lot of years. I'll run some more film through it and see what happens. Anyway, check out the camera and a couple of sample shots for today ... and that price tag. #newcameraday #estatesalefinds #yashicat4 #yashicat4superd #yashicat4super #filmcamera #pointandshoot #holygrail

Yesterday’s @camerasandcoffee916 meetup in Midtown. Once again, great fun geeking out on camera gear with fellow photographers. My cameras: film photos with the Canon Zoom XL, color with a Sony DSX-TX5 digicam. #camerasandcoffee #midtown #sacramento #filmphotography #canonzoomxl #ilfordhp5 #sonydsctx5 #digicam #cameradog
