Denver’s most intriguing new restaurant takes you from Rome to Tokyo, without ever leaving Larimer Square. ✦ There’s something about stepping into @romyo_denver that makes you forget you’re in the middle of downtown Denver. The warm lighting, rich interiors, intimate train-inspired booths, and old-world charm feel like discovering a beautiful little restaurant down a quiet street in Rome. But here, Rome meets Tokyo. From celebrated Denver restaurateurs @cheffrankbonanno and Jacqueline Bonanno of @bocodenver, Rōmyō brings itameshi, the art of blending Japanese and Italian cuisine, to life. What began as Chef Bonanno’s annual culinary pop-up at Luca has evolved into one of Denver’s most distinctive dining experiences, with Executive Chef Johnny Rodriguez leading the kitchen. And the food? Every course felt like its own little discovery. ✦ Hamachi & toro nigiri, beautifully delicate and fresh ✦ Wagyu & black truffle dumplings, rich and indulgent ✦ Shrimp tempura roll, perfectly crisp ✦ Porchetta ramen, a beautiful meeting of Italian comfort and Japanese tradition ✦ Wagyu katsu, the centerpiece of our evening ✦ Baby gem lettuce Caesar & blistered shishito peppers ✦ Cannoli, a little taste of Italy to finish Paired with creative cocktails, including the Gua Smash and Window Seat Sour, the evening was as much about the atmosphere as it was about the cuisine. What I loved most was how thoughtfully it all came together. The vision, the architecture, the unexpected flavors, and that feeling of being transported somewhere else entirely. Last week we had the joy of closing out @thegrowhaus Harvest Nights, a magical garden dinner series supporting resources to combat food insecurity and provide wellness initiatives to our Denver community. Huge shoutout to @chefbyrongomez for curating the chef lineup, @mountain_crust for hosting us in their beautiful space, the generous sponsors, and YOU for giving back and supporting this incredible organization. Mizuna created the entree this evening: seared lamb loin, fairytale eggplant caponata, red bullhorn recaito and basil crema.

Brought to you by @bocodenver & @cheffrankbonanno - Italian & Japanese flavors combine for some of the yummiest dishes you’ve ever had. Cacio e Pepe rice? AMAZING. Chicken Katsu alla Picatta? Unexpectedly DELICIOUS! Matcha tiramisu? UNREAL👏🏼🍵 My fiancé and I both agreed that this was a 10/10 experience overall⭐️ The vibes are old school Denver, the food & drinks are incredible, service is on point, and the menu is extensive! Rōmyō | New Denver Restaurant ✨ Rome meets Tokyo in this new concept born from Chef Frank Bonanno’s annual Itameshi pop-up at Luca (which translates to ‘Italian meal’ in Japanese) Rōmyō turns a beloved culinary playdate into a permanent destination on Denver’s most iconic block! 🗼 You guys this is one of the coolest restaurants I’ve seen open in Denver in a while. The restaurant is beautiful - drawing inspiration from Italian and Japanese cultures for an aesthetically GORGEOUS restaurant. Seriously the team killed it on this one. I was starstruck by the bar when I walked in. Seriously ya’ll if nothing else come have a cocktail and you’ll see what I mean. Now onto the food. The menu was a little scary to me at first but I’m not even gunna lie. They truly won me one. They take these two seemingly very different concepts and marry them into a delicious, dynamic menu!
