Excuuuuuuse me, but itโ€™s Zoeโ€™s birthday today, so I thought Iโ€™d interrupt your feeds with a little joy ๐Ÿ’š

Zoe was born on the vernal equinox, the threshold between seasons, the start (and end) of the zodiac calendar. She opens the passageway for us to hold the past with a clear and loving eye, and the future with a knowing, hopeful heart. She is the door and we love her!!

Hereโ€™s a little flashback of some highlights I got to witness from her past year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฅฌโ˜˜๏ธ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿฆš๐Ÿ๐Ÿช€๐ŸŽพ๐ŸฅŽ

Had the time of my life co-hosting a nightlight workshop with @jolienope and @randcompanynyc . Jolie 3D printed nightlight parts with a mix of her designs and mine, and guests were able to choose their pieces and make their own assemblages. With great results !! So many amazing nightlights, I wish I could have all of them. Scroll to the last pic to see mine lit up !! Jolie made mine ๐Ÿ˜ˆ THANK YOU to both Jolie and R and Co ๐Ÿซถ

@dekalbmarkethallofficial opened on this day in 2017 and our lives changed overnight.
๐ŸฅŸ
Since then, weโ€™ve served countless bowls of hand-made pierogi, survived a once-in-a-generation pandemic and now weโ€™re about to open a bigger and more grown-up Pierogi Boys in Ridgewood, Queens!
๐Ÿ’ฅ
Thank you for all of you- our guests and friends for your constant support over the years, your kind words and encouragement mean the world to us! Thank you to our amazing and tireless team who is running the show on Brooklyn as weโ€™re building in Queens!

 Hereโ€™s to another 8 years!!!

I had a beautiful spring break with @zanderschlacter, @bodylanguage_shop, and @elizaj333 in Mexico City! I hadnโ€™t been to Mexico since I studied abroad with the Mexico Solidarity Network for two months the summer of 2009. I have learned a lot more Spanish since then and it was awesome and healing to be able to actually communicate while being there this week. It reminded me of how scared I was of making mistakes back when I was 20 and it felt good to let myself try speaking Spanish with strangers and mess up and find the right words this time around. I really connected with strangers, which was delightful. My study abroad experience was also about 6-12 months before I realized I was trans and changed my name; I was dealing with a lot of shame and confusion around my gender and sexuality while also feeling isolated. Needless to say it felt great to be back there 14 years further into my gender and life with an amazing spouse and friends. As a quintessential Cancerian, Iโ€™m not usually a huge traveler, so Iโ€™m really proud of myself for being brave and diving into this experience ๐Ÿค—
