30 jaar❤️🇰🇷🫰🏼:
(13-07-1996)

1. Korea.

Is verstoten iets verliezen,
the nature negeren.
Is dertig jaar worden een eer, geluk,
een gegeven, wat niet iedereen gegeven is.
Vandaag dertig jaar jong.

4. Dertig jaar.

(E) Emotie.

(T) Tegenstrijdig.

Psalmen 3:4 HTB
[4] Maar Here, U bent mijn beschermende schild en U houdt mijn eer hoog. U bent mijn enige hoop! Alleen uw kracht houdt mij overeind.

Isaiah 11:2-3 CEVDCI
2. The Spirit of the Lord will be with him to give him understanding, wisdom, and insight. He will be powerful, and he will know and honor the Lord. 3. His greatest joy will be to obey the Lord. This king won't judge by appearances or listen to rumors.

Some of you who know me mainly through my books 'Keti Koti' and 'Can I Still Be at Home in This Country?' may be surprised to see me involved in fashion, art & beauty. (And probably vice versa as well.) But this actually started with fashion. And, besides that, it all connects. Being co-curator of 'Reflections on Fashion', now on view at @kunstmuseum.nl, is really a continuation of the convos I've been having for years. Convos about history, identity, belonging, justice, representation, and the stories we choose to cherish and share.
It was wonderful to celebrate the opening of this exhibit with everyone who came to see the exhibit. I loved combining archival designs from Suriname and Indonesia with the work of Marga Weimans, Denzel Veerkamp, David Paulus, Ruby Joemai, Jameyne Tol, Giorgio Toppin and Ysatis Haumahu.
A remarkable piece is the 150-year-old Afro-Surinamese 'koto', beautifully styled by Tailors & Wearers, connecting fashion heritage with contemporary perspectives.
'Reflections on Fashion' is on view at Kunstmuseum Den Haag until January 2027 Design: Maarten Spruyt. Coördinating curator: Madelief Hohé ❤️ Thanks to both of them, to Margriet Schavemaker and the entire team of @kunstmuseum.nl. Also, much love to the participating designers and my fellow guest curators. And to all of you: this is a beautifully meaningful exhibit that is not to be missed. Come visit and let the garments tell their stories. Also: listen to the 13-minutes 'Nieuwsradio' segment via 5th link in my bio, with Madelief oihé and yours truly

Maak kennis met onze eerste vlogger: Bogalech Snijders! ✨

Vaderdag🇰🇷🇳🇱:
(21-06-2026)

1. Papa (Korea)
Onzichtbaar in mijn kinderjaren,
maar je was erbij, bij het ontstaan.
Verweven in het onvoorwaardelijke,
geplant vanuit jouw zaad.

zeven uur terug.
Een vorm van aanpassing
die invloed had op alles.
Een omgeving zegt veel over je zintuigen
en beïnvloedt je waarneming.
Wat ik voel en ruik,
is bij de oorsprong al jong geprogrammeerd
en verdwijnt niet meer.

3. Twee systemen.
vanuit geborgenheid.
Hechting komt later,
daar ontstaat ruimte voor de vader.

4. Kind, ik.
Ik zie jou,
omdat je geliefd bent.
Ik voel zoveel affectie voor jou,
omdat ik jou erken.
Ik hoor jou,
want ik herken jouw stem.

Papa.

Last night, I attended the final of Miss Teen Nederland, and it is already one of my favorite finals of the year!
I’m so proud of the girls from Miss Teen Nederland. The level was incredibly high, and it was amazing to see how confidently they were already shining on stage at such a young age!
MAY YOU INSPIRE is my theme this month and what a burst of inspiration I saw yesterday! 😊
The way they are already using their voices and contributing to a better world, one with more understanding, inclusivity, and equal opportunities is truly amazing and inspirational! ✨

👏🏾Congrats to the new Queens:
