Muscle beach across generations ❤️‍🔥 when we did this 10-year 10-handstand anniversary I knew I had to find these photos and run it back! 📸 @sbixlerphotography Swipe to see side by sides of me, my grandpa, and my uncle all on the p-bars in Santa Monica, photos of my grandpa doing Acro decades ago, and a cute lil feature of little Dave (my pops) I didn't find these photos of my grandpa until I was already a few years deep into handstands, calisthenics & Acro. What I didn't realize was that while I thought I was starting something totally new and exciting at the time, I was really actually continuing and evolving with a legend that already flowed through my veins 🤸‍♀️ It's actually insane seeing how much these disciplines have evolved (you can def see it in the old school planche and handstand lines 😝) and yet the spirit behind the people and community at Santa Monica Muscle Beach is still so strong, and still such an eclectic, uplifting, & positive community. When I showed my pops this photos he told me "Your Taid would be so proud!" (Taid = Welsh for grandpa 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿) He was an absolute exercise junkie just like me and even though I grew up in Sacramento, we visited Santa Monica every summer because my parents are both from LA. Now I live here too and get to be upside down on the same beach, same P-bars and carry on something old & new & that feels super special to me. 😊 #santamonica #originalmusclebeach #santamonicapier #losangeles #generationsoffitness
