It’s time…

It’s always been time to “crucify the flesh” or deny ourselves when we’re committed to following Christ.

It’s a nonnegotiable.

In Matthew 16:24 Jesus says, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.“

Lent is a great opportunity to commit again to denying ourselves of the things we know are keeping us from God.

St. Augustine reflects on this passage by emphasizing the necessity of grace in overcoming the flesh; he teaches that it is through God’s grace and our cooperation with it that we can truly crucify our sinful desires.

St. John Chrysostom also highlights the active role of the believer, cooperating with divine grace to live a life that reflects Christ’s victory over sin.

Just sayin…

If you’re a regular at your parish, you’ll probably see some new faces next Wednesday 👀

That’s GOOD 👍

Humility is a vital virtue within the Christian life, as it helps us to emulate Christ and recognize our dependence on God.

When addressing the temptation to see ourselves as superior, especially in terms of religious practice, it's important to approach this with charity and understanding.

Let’s make sure and remember that we all need grace, patience, forgiveness, and a fresh start in order to become the saints we’re all called to be.

That’s the point of the ashes…humility.

There seems to be more young people than ever before who are outspoken about their Faith?! Why is that?

St. Tom’s at Purdue University is celebrating 75 years! I stopped by their campus to chat about this milestone, the future ahead, and what being Catholic looks like at college in the year 2025. It was an incredibly inspiring episode. The future is bright!

Out tomorrow at 12 a.m. on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcast. 🙏❤️ (Boiler Up!)
