This Diwali, I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my dear friend Ashok Das @ashok.das2 .

Ashok is one of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve had the privilege to meet. He’s an exceptionally talented artist who has represented Assam on both national and international stages, making his mark with a rare blend of skill and humility.

But right now, Ashok is facing one of the toughest battles of his life. He’s fighting cancer.

Ashok’s love for nature and community has always been his guiding light. Choosing to live away from city life, he dedicates his time to teaching art to children in remote villages, showing them the beauty of creativity and the importance of conserving nature. He’s worked in small schools, often with minimal pay, across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Punjab, and Rajasthan. He could have chosen a more lucrative path in places like Delhi or Mumbai, but he followed his heart, quietly building and nurturing communities wherever he went.

Today, if you could contribute within your capacity to support a young artist like Ashok, it would go a long way in helping him continue his fight. People like Ashok are the unsung heroes of our society, working silently but powerfully to shape a better world.

Your support, no matter how small, will make a difference. You can donate at the link below.

Thank you for standing with Ashok and honoring the selfless work he has done for us all.
