Race season is supposed to be FUN.

The excitement. The adrenaline. The early mornings, the costumes, the starting line, the finish line ciders, and the feeling of doing something you love.

But sometimes, somewhere along the way, it becomes about everything BUT the joy. The pressure. The expectations. The comparisons. The results. The drama. The outside noise that slowly drowns out the reason you started in the first place. It starts to feel heavy and sad.

So maybe it’s time to breathe and get back to the basics. Not every race needs to be a PR. Not every season needs to be your best. And not everything needs to be measured, shared, or validated.

The goal isn’t just to become a better athlete. It’s to enjoy the journey along the way. This season, I’m choosing less noise and more joy. Less pressure and more presence. And remembering what brought me to the starting line in the first place. Because at the end of the day, this is supposed to be fun. And I’m finding my way back to that.

Tomorrow kicks off the @rundisney season!!

I will be running at least 1 race each weekend this season but I start with the Wine and Dine Two Challenge which includes my 3rd half marathon!

I have spent the past 4 months training…in the 90 degree heat, the rain, after work, on the weekends and on vacation. I have arranged and rearranged my life to accommodate my runs. “Sorry, I can’t, I have my long run tomorrow” became one of my most used phrases 😂

It has not been without some setbacks..I may not feel 45 but my body sure does. These knees have been taking a beating and now I know what not to do. My latest setback has me shifting my goals for the weekend and that’s ok.

All that to say…it is just me vs me out there on those courses. I have put in the work and I am as ready as I can be.

….to all my runner friends, let’s do this 🎉

Just because you’re a mother doesn’t mean your dreams need to disappear.

Chase your dreams, even if it takes you a little longer. 🧡

You’re much more efficient when you take care and listen to your body and how it feels!

You can only do what you can do and that’s okay! Most of your runs are supposed to be in the slow zone anyways and be about time on feet! Once I reached this mindset running became so much more fun again! I wanted to get out to that run club and have a good time instead of being crazy about how I could have ran faster. I was getting healthy for myself. Of course I have goals I want to reach, I just don’t let it control every single run I go on and allow it to be fun! 💖

This one right here was personal..

6 months ago, I finished my half marathon at a 2:18:27. Which was 2 seconds slower than m my first half last November.

I told myself in this training block, if you want it, you’re gonna have to work for it, and work hard.

And that’s exactly what I did.

I fought for this.
I pushed for this.

And I got it.

I surpassed my goal 18 minute PR with a —
21 minute and 4 second PR.

LIKE WHAT.

I did that & I couldn’t be happier.

Thank you for everyone who supports me and cheers me on. It truly brings me so much joy getting to talk to you guys and getting to see you today!

💙
