Sentimental Shit Incoming💪✨

I know a lot of you have been seeing me getting out, smiling, and enjoying myself. I have a lot of new found support, my family, and MYSELF to thank for that!

In 2023, I was diagnosed with TYPE II diabetes, weighing in at my heaviest, 260 lbs, and feeling stuck in a body I didn’t recognize. I was constantly tired, crying, depressed, swollen ankles, stressed, and immersed in other people’s chaos, when I was alone and holding back on my own. Y’all I was embarrassed and hurt on my honeymoon, when I was told I couldn’t go pass a certain height of the zip line, because there wasn’t a harness big enough to fit my thighs🤣😂 My invasive thoughts took over, thinking of what my husband probably thought, ”My fat wife is ruining the fun!” Or “I have to keep constantly stopping to wait for her to catch her breath or catch up.” Baby I was all over the place, but he was patient and just dragged me to the next best activity. While I was still FINE ASF, I really wasn’t.

As of today, I’m down 40lbs and my A1C is in the non-diabetic range. From the day I received my diagnosis, my husband dragged me out the house to walk around our neighborhood, and now we wake up to go to the gym before work. A friend brought me fruit to work, when they found out. My girls Mandy and Jai call/text me to check on me consistently or to just get me out the house. I stay on the phone with Wendy Lou Who, EVERYDAY-ALL DAY, who saw the sadness in my eyes. My pep talking ass brothers gave their speeches lol, my babies tell me, “mom you look good” or “good job”.

It wasn’t easy. There were moments of struggle, but I keep pushing because I know I am worth it and I want to be here for my children. I’m not completely out of the woods, but I believe in small victories.

I’ve learned so much about myself and the importance of surrounding myself with people who truly support and uplift me. Life is too short to keep holding on to things that drain you, whether it’s unhealthy habits or unhealthy people. The only way forward is by letting go of what no longer serves you and embracing the better and healthier version of yourself, cuz baby Big Mama gone step!🌟

We are BLACK LADIES!..... We build .... We don’t tear down other BLACK LADIES.... We have felt the pain of being torn down and we have decided we will be deliberate about building others up! If I didn’t tag you please don’t be offended.
All too often, we LADIES find it easier to criticize each other, instead of building each other up.
With all the negativity going around let’s do something positive!!🌸Upload a picture/video of yourself...ONLY you.
We are not Angry BLACK Woman!

We are powerful, We are passionate, we courageous
We are resistance, we are change, we are strength, we are pride, we are royalty, we are goddesses, we are magic!! We are Black Women✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾👑👑👑👑 Then tag as many SISTERS to do the same. Let’s build ourselves up, instead of tearing ourselves down.
If I tagged you, don’t disappoint me!! Thanks @jazzyellis and @bridgette.nicole for considering me a sister/friend 🖤
