I need to take a moment to publicly pinch myself and over share about my dreams/goals/admiration for my hero’s.
I fell in love with comedy at a young age. When I was 8 years old I became obsessed with SNL and the idea of making characters. My senior year of High School Freaks and Geeks aired and I identified with it so much. I decided to move to LA in 2005, the same year The 40 year old virgin was released. My goal was to become an onset makeup artist and one day work on a film with @juddapatow because his sense of humor felt like it was made for me.
In 2017 I got to meet Judd while grooming my longtime client and friend @peteholmes. It was a surreal day of sitting in hotel rooms with them while they did press together at the TCA’s. I started getting calls to groom Judd for appearances. I got to help out a bit in his documentary about Garry Shandling, which was major for me.
Last night I had the honor of grooming Judd for the Director’s Guild Awards. I’m not star struck by actors, but I am in constant awe of directors and the work they do. It was very exciting to be a small part of the evening. Judds jokes crushed. Tarantino walked right by me. If you told baby Kat this would be her life, she would never believe you.

It’s always the most fun day of “work” when I get to paint up these two faces. It doesn’t feel like work at all. @dastmalchian embraces makeup and I love thinking up subtle ways to make his look different than the typical mens grooming. And @evelynleigh has incredible taste and we legit pulled the same exact first choice reference photo for makeup to go with her incredible dress and gloves.

Thank you @evanandzane for an amazing show last night at @bourbonroomhollywood ! The set list was incredibly fun! So honored to have done Evan’s glam witch makeup. I can’t say enough positive things about this woman.
