Had a super blessed week last week at Stop #1 of the Bassmaster Elite Qualifiers on Lake Norfork in Arkansas!
We were able to make the final day Top 10 cut and ended up finishing 7th overall! I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to compete at this level and beyond blessed for all the support I receive along the way. I truly couldn’t do this without my family, friends, and sponsors who continue to believe in me!
Now it’s on to Toledo Bend! The goal is simple keep grinding, stay inside the Top 10 in the overall standings, and put ourselves in position to qualify for the Bassmaster Elite Series!

Well, the Good Lord blessed us again today! 🙏 We made the final day cut!
The Top 10 anglers will battle it out tomorrow, and we don’t have much to lose so we’re going down swinging!

ORLANDO, FL — The fishing world and the artificial intelligence world collided this week ahead of ICAST, as a new company called B.AI.T unveiled a smart lure that finds a fish, swims over to it, convinces it that biting is its own idea, and hooks it for you. The company insists this is no more cheating than using live bait, a graph, side-imaging, forward-facing sonar, spot-lock, YouTube, weather apps, or Grandpa’s secret lure.

The lure, named BaitGPT, scans the water for nearby fish, motors toward the best candidate, and releases a proprietary scent the company calls “irresistible” and fish, presumably, would also call irresistible. The fish opens up, BaitGPT sets the hook, and the angler reels in a trophy they can take full credit for.

The lure is the work of Taro “Tuna” Tanaka, a retired Japanese pro whose career includes eleven world titles, seven long-distance casting titles, three Noble Prize nominations, a PhD in marine neuroscience, and a reputation as the mad scientist of the fish lab, where he sleeps on a bed infused with seaweed. “This is the greatest thing to happen to fishing since the first bamboo (take, 竹) pole was cut down in my hometown,” said Tanaka, who trained the lure on forty years of his own tournament data and experiences. He paused. “It’s a full-circle moment for me — bamboo symbolizes prosperity and unbroken vitality. Plus, it’s just super cool seeing a giant giant end up in my net!”
