Sometimes the best projects begin long before the first sketch ever touches the page. ✨ Last year, while vending at the @boozybookfest in KC, I met the two loveliest peeps behind one of the most delightful little corners of the bookish community, @bookcrimes So when they reached out and asked if I would create a new logo and cover art for their socials, my answer was an immediate "YES!!!" because I was so excited to continue the new chapter of our story.  They trusted me and gave me the *keys* (hehe) over total creative control. Their page celebrates all the little "crimes" books commit against us - like stealing our sleep, wrecking our emotions, and convincing us that one more chapter couldn't hurt. So I leaned into that idea with locks, keys, jail bars, and even experimented with turning books into the bars themselves. And of course I couldn't resist adding some sparkles to add a little bit of whimsy as well. 💖 These are some of the very first sketches that formed the logo I ended up making for them. This stage is always a lot of fun and exciting because the possibilities are literally endless...  But! Before I reveal the final design, I am curious: which one do you think they chose?? 👀 #booktok #bookishcommunity #logodesign #behindthedesign #supportsmallcreators

Yesterday happenings! Bookish besties Karlee and Caitlin drove down from Bellevue to check out the store. They've been customers of Tory's Mystery Boxes and it was so excellent to meet them irl!!!! @book_crimes is their booksta/Booktok account -- go follow them! Also: another puzzle finished; Tippy and Pixel cuddling; shelves still in progress (and I definitely spelled "patience" right on the first try) #indiebookstore #bookstorecats #nebraskagram #lincolnnebraska #lincolnne #bookstores
