It’s a Scavenger Hunt! 📿🎲🧸🪇🐚

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share this fun idea inspired by @anitralovesbooksanddogs and her bookshelf scavenger hunts she does on her stories. Every time I see them, I think it’s a cool activity and want to do one, but I rarely have much free time at home. So instead, I’m going to do a weekly scavenger hunt challenge on my feed, just for fun.

I’m starting out by tagging some friends, but no pressure to play of course… And if you see this post and want to play along, consider yourself tagged and feel free to join in. Oh, and tag me in your posts so I can share them on my story! 😁🫶🏻

This is just a silly thing to pass the time, so join in whenever and however you want… (This is perfect for the commitment-phobes since there are literally no rules!) You can find the books on your own shelves, at bookstores, your friend’s house, or the local library. Whatever you want. And if the week’s theme isn’t vibing for you, skip it and check back next time. The goal is just to have some fun!

I’ll be taking your ideas in the comments each week and using them for the following week’s hunt, so be sure to let me know what you want me to do next down below… ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I can’t wait to see how random my feed gets!! 😅😛😂

Ok, here we go…

Week 1: SINGLE WORD TITLES

🔸 Vicious
🔸 Pomegranate
🔸 Trust
🔸 Room
🔸 Feed
🔸 Migrations
🔸 Bunny
🔸 Martyr!
🔸 Wellness
🔸 Almond

I showed you mine, now show me yours! You have one week. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Had the best weekend at @fabledfantasyevents and Universal Studios! 🥰 Loved getting to see so many talented authors, buy some pretty books and have too many butterbeers.

This weekend was so much fun. I always love going to book conventions with friends, but having one so close to the Wizarding World was a game changer. Hopefully all those steps cancel out the butterbeers and sweet treats. 😂

What author would you love to meet?

Blue stack for friendship 💙

My favorite thing about this community is all the wonderful friends I’ve made. Getting to rant and rave about all these books the last few years with you guys has been the most fun. I never could have imagined how this little account would end up bringing so many amazing people into my life.

I finished my House of Earth and Blood reread over the weekend and this line has been running through my mind the most: “My friends are with me and I am not afraid.” 🥹

Thanks for making this community such an amazing and wonderful place. Insta only lets you tag 20 people, but there are many more who mean the world to me. If we’ve ever had a single conversation here know that it made my day. Love you guys! 🖤

Is it even Iron Flame Release Day if you haven’t posted about it?

Happy Iron Flame Day! I hope everyone who wanted a copy was able to get one and that you are able to remain spoiler free until you finish the book!

So far I have only ready one chapter and I am so excited to read more!

Also, who else is stoked that midnight book release parties are back?! When I heard they were doing them for this book I knew I had to go because I went to all of the Harry Potter ones starting with Goblet of Fire!

✨FALL LEAVES STACK✨

The trees are changing and it’s the best part of fall!! In Chicago the colors have been turn their brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows for a few weeks now. But now they are in full bloom!

It makes me feel so lucky that I’m living in the Midwest where we have the best seasons. And that the colors are so vibrant! May not love fall but do love leaf peeping 🥰🍁🍂

Tagged a few friends to show off their fall stack - but if you see this grab your books and make it rain with leaves!

Coffee and current read 🎃🍂

I had a well deserved Starbucks run this morning after being up all night with my sick kiddo 😅

I’m currently reading Cursed, the second and final book in the Gilded duology and I am LOVING it. These books are just perfect for spooky season.

I tagged a few of you to share your current reads, but would love anyone to share so consider yourself tagged! ❤️

Had so much fun seeing Elena Armas and Ali Hazelwood with @vblacey.books and @magically.kate 🎉

Ali and Elena were hilarious and had everyone laughing non stop. I’m really excited to get to Elena’s newest release, The Long Game, soon. I love Ted Lasso, so anything that give those vibes and has a British MMC is bound to be amazing!

And I LOVE any reason to meet up with book friends. These girls have become real life best friends and I’m always so thankful bookstagram brought us together.

Have you read any of these?

- five finger challenge -

- pinky: a book I promise to read soon. This was on my August TBR, and I swear I’ll read it soon!

- ring: a book with a character you’d marry. Jamie from Two Wrongs Make a Right is honestly my ideal man. No notes.

- middle: a book with a character you hated. Mikale deserved worse. A lot worse.

- pointer: a book you’ll always recommend. The Witch Collector series is an all time favorite. Will never stop talking about it!

- thumb: a book you really loved. I was giddy reading Love on the Brain. It was so cute!

Thanks for the tag @bookishbethanyerin !!

Long Live by V.B. Lacey

First, Vanessa, I am so damn proud of you! You told us you wanted to write a book, so you started to and look at you now! About to be a published author (one more day!!!) and writing book two!! You inspire me every day with your dedication to your writing.

Now for the review:

I love everything magic, so I love fact that there are elementals with magic. It’s such a cool idea. Isla, the main character, lives in a small village. She is a badass woman who stands up for what she wants and what she believes in and I love that about her.

The elementals are a fun group and I love how they interact and how they are with each other.

This book has so many fun twists and turns and that ending!! I need book two ASAP.

Read for:
🌎Multiple POVs
🌊Morally grey characters
🔥 Elemental magic
💨Found family
🗡️Witty banter
⚔️Plot twists
⛵️Forced proximity

Fun fact: the ship name, Mekaisa, was created by using letters from The Sisterhood’s first names!
