I have read at least one book from each of these authors, and it’s safe to say once you’ve read one you want to read them all. Legends, all of them.

#whatsthisweek 📖🎀

The one thing they don’t tell you about borrowing books from the library is that it feels a lot like fostering a puppy, falling in love with it, and then being forced to send it back. Or at least that’s how I feel about the books I’m finishing this week.

You’ve seen my post a lot about “The White Album” by Joan Didion and it might seem a bit contradictory that being the fast reader I am and having encountered a book that I love so much I am not eager to finish it. Instead, the idea that I will have to part with this specific copy is making me stupidly emotional.

I don’t know if it happens to you but sometimes a book is the greatest form of companionship. Some books you enjoy so much that moving on becomes a dreadful idea. I guess that’s what’s happening to me with Didion. Not only do I not want my first read to be over, I also don’t want to not have it around me after a month of carrying it around everywhere.

It’s my emotional support book.

To add insult to injury I also had to start reading “My Brilliant Friend” and I was half hoping I wouldn’t like it because I have too much on my plate this week to have to finish in time to avoid getting banned at the library.

But I regret to confirm that I love it.

In fact I read the first 150 pages in one go.

That’s how much I love it.

Luckily my third and last book (I call it my public transport book) is a poetry collection by Emily Dickinson which I actually bought with my own money. So nobody is taking her away from me.

At least I have that confort.

To wrap up here’s my reading list for the week. Wish me luck avoiding getting banned at the library (yet again, lol).

•”My life has stood a loaded gun” by Emily Dickinson —Poetry collection.

•”My Brilliant Friend” by Elena Ferrante —First book in the series “Neapolitan Novels”.

•”The White Album” by Joan Didion — Essay collection.

I’m tagging some friends so that they share what they’re reading this week 💖
