What are your plans this weekend? I’m planning to do lots of reading. I’m finished with Midnight Sun, and I’m excited to get into something new/fresh now. Mostly because I found it really odd reading Bella & Edward’s story from Edward’s perspective. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it felt so...wrong? I enjoyed some extra details of Edward’s life that we wouldn’t otherwise know about, but I really feel like Twilight is Bella’s story. Edward does A LOT of thinking in Midnight Sun, and it takes forevvveerrrrr to get to the good parts we all know and love. I dunno. My birthday is September 14th 3. I am a Virgo ♍️ 4. I am in my second year as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. 5. I got my masters degree at @rittigers. Undergrad was @nazarethcollege 🐯🦅 6. Therefore I spent 6 years living in Rochester. @wegmans is the best grocery store and you cannot convince me otherwise!!! 7. I met my boyfriend in undergrad, we’ve been together for 5 years 8. I have a matching tattoo with my grad school classmates 👯‍♀️ 9. It’s the Greek letter alpha which is used to show significance in research 10. It has definitely made me want more tattoos 11. I can touch my nose with my tongue 👅 12. I prefer any other kind of pizza over pepperoni. And also pineapple is def a pizza topping 🍍 13. Neuropsychology is my jam 14. Chocolate ice cream, sushi, tacos, and any type of Italian or Mediterranean food are my favorite 15. Some grad classmates and I have a short published research article on autism support in higher ed 16. I have been to 9 countries, I love to travel. 17. Ireland was my absolute favorite. Stayed with a friend of a friend and his family while I was there and had the most wonderful and authentic experience I could’ve asked for for my first time there. 18. Next on my bucket list is Iceland 🇮🇸 (if we ever get to travel that is) 19. Domestically, the furthest west I have been is Indiana. Dying to get to the PNW 20. Die hard Notre Dame fan ☘️ 21. I’m torn between fall and spring as my favorite seasons. Both just feel crisp and refreshing to me, and I love the colors in nature that come with them! 22. After 6 years in Rochester I have very strong opinions on winter 🤦🏻‍♀️ 23. I’m very indecisive. I can always see both sides of the coin so to speak. This makes me a good counselor when necessary, but DOES NOT help my personal life 😂 24. I have dreams of writing a children’s book one day 25. Today is #readabookday so I decided to do two posts!📚 • @jens_bookstack tagged me to do this challenge, and Lucy got in on the shoot too as she tried to win me over for some fetch 🐶 • Something old: Growing up, my grandparents would read us this copy of Shel Silverstein’s book and I look forward to reading it to our nephews and goddaughters ❤️ • Something new: I love the work of Dr. Brackett. As a social worker in a high school, understanding emotions is something I can never learn enough about. If you work in a school, have kids, or really if you ever interact with another person ever, I suggest looking into his work 🧠 • Something borrowed: My SIL leant me this because I loved the show so much (and not just because the main character was the king in Hamilton). 🟣Macaron Challenge Wrap-Up🟣 I’ve loved co-hosting the #bookmatchingmacarons challenge with @thechicklitbookclub and you all so much!! This recipe has challenged me in ways that few others have BUT I can say that when I finally *got* it, it was so exhilarating. I’ve got the macaron bug! I am addicted to making macarons! 😝 🟣 I was BLOWN AWAY by the submissions to this challenge. You are all so creative. I felt like I could taste them through my screen. 📝Review: Royal Holiday ⁣ ⁣ My BBF (best book friend) @what_britt_reads and I are Christmas obsessed, so we had to do a Christmas in July buddy read #JulySeasonsReadings And we figured what better book than Royal Holiday!🎁🎉❄️🎄🎅🏻⁣ ⁣ Thanks to all the gals who discussed with us today — it was so fun meeting you all!❤️💚⁣ ⁣ This was my first Jasmine Guillory novel and it didn’t disappoint! Of course I loved the Christmas setting, and the mother-daughter relationship between Vivian and Maddie. I also enjoyed how the book was about Vivian’s (a woman with a grown up daughter) love story, and that she was getting a second chance at love. 📝Review: Faking Under the Mistletoe👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨⁣ ⁣ This was the second pick in my #SeasonsReading buddy read club! 🎄❄️🎅🏻🎁⁣ ⁣ While I wasn’t sure how I’d like it in the beginning (it had somewhat of an abrupt start??) it actually really grew on me! While of course it was filled with fun and fluffy romance, excuse me, CHRISTMAS ROMANCE✨, it also had some more serious plot lines (e.g. sexual harassment/assault in the office). Although the boss/intern relationship was a bit much (hello, HR?!?!) I was really entertained by Olivia’s sass and witty banter. It was so much fun chatting about this book with my other holiday-loving gals!
