I met up with some of our amazing book bloggers when I was on my travels with the #thomastrue tour last week!
Pic one @thefirstelevenminutes is a LEGEND of the #bookcommunity and he was so sweet and kind and lovely, as I suspected he would be.
@booksta_jon and I fell in love and are getting married
@lv_matthews_author is not a book blogger, of course, but we are also in love and getting married.

Pic 4 @bookish.browns.books lives like 2 streets away from me, and we had to drive aaallll the way to Bridgnorth to meet irl for the first time! She is lovely and we are going to make an effort to meet up!

📚 HARROGATE – THE BLOGGERS 📚

And so to part two of my Theakstons Crime Writing Festival journey and this time it’s THE BLOGGERS!

I’ve met so many fantastic people online and if I’m being honest I was terrified of meeting people here IN REAL LIFE. But guess what? Everyone is equally as fantastic in person!

Started my night off on Thursday by meeting the fabulous @thestucumminsreads who I’ve been chatting to for the past couple of years. Never meet your heroes they say! Stu, you are a star of the book community and I sincerely hope we get to meet again soon (and there’s always next year’s Harrogate).

I’m just going to run through all the other fabulous bookish friends I met over the weekend for the first time – and honestly not once did I feel like I was in the presence of strangers. Absolutely big up to @kelly_thereadingmachine and @booksta_jon for allowing me to hang with them over the two days. It was an absolute pleasure.

Annie @mylittlebookhome I forgive you for an absolute massive book spoiler all those months ago (even though I seem to still be bringing it up).

So nice to meet others who I follow on #Bookstagram and X/Twitter: @relish_books @elizabethsbooks and also @lindseypeapod a new bookish friend.

Finally met up with @empalmer09 and @therealrobcook and also @thereadingpara who I had a nice chat with about Mr Astley.

And finally, @bookswithvic who was just the loveliest, also made me blush with the nice things she was saying about me – obviously confused me with someone else ; )

There’s also others I met but didn’t get pics so nice to meet you too @paradise_library @alittlemixofvix @ljh50hill @sarahdouganblackburn @janetemson @tillylovesbooks (if I’ve missed anyone out I’m sorry).

Last weekend was just amazing and I really do think I’ve found my tribe here on Bookstagram. And we all love the same thing. Here’s to next year!!

Part One: Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival 2024

What an amazing day! My first time at the Harrogate festival, I only went for one day - but what a day. I’ve taken so many photos I’m having to do this over three posts, so sorry in advance for the Harrogate spam!!

So part one - first up, I finally met the legend that is @johnmarrs.author 🙌🏻 thankfully, he’s as lovely as he is talented. An absolute pleasure to chat to him and his husband ‘other John’ 😂

I met the equally lovely @bpwalterauthor who was kind enough to sign my copy of Scuttle - sorry I didn’t have a pen, schoolboy error!

I finally met my booksta buddy Kevin aka @thefirstelevenminutes who was a blast to hang out with! Hopefully catch up again soon :)

I saw the panel ‘Tangled Web’ with @lucyfoleyauthor @louisecandlish @jackjordan_author @cathryanhoward and @cltaylorauthor - one of only two panels I went to. Such a fascinating talk - even if the tent was hotter than the sun 🥵 it was a pleasure to meet Lucy again - one of the nicest people!

I met the hilarious and lovely @gythalodge - such a pleasure ❤️ I love her books. I also ran into @chriscarterbooksofficial who was kind enough to stop for a quick selfie!

I hung out with @tmloganauthor in the tent, we had a few beers and put the world to rights - such an easy chap to talk to :) Great to meet Graham Bartlett aka @gbpoliceadvisor - I owe you a pint!

I also met the brilliant @lv_matthews_author and the fabulous Vic aka @bookswithvic from @instabooktours who had me in stitches!! Both a joy to chat to.

I also met - but sadly got no photos with - @kelly_thereadingmachine @elizabethsbooks @sarahs_bookishlife @michaelwoodbooks and @cjaggett - an absolute pleasure :)

I had a brilliant bookish day in York yesterday. I visited @criminallygoodbooksyork for some books and then went round the corner to St Crux for a book talk with @ajwestauthor. I also got to meet @bookswithvic finally, after she hosted such a great readalong for The Betrayal of Thomas true. It was such a great day

Wow! What an amazing evening with @ajwestauthor last night. It’s so lovely to host an event with AJ. Always so charming and entertaining, AJ captivated his audience with his engaging storytelling style and historical knowledge.

We would also like to mention the very hard working @bookswithvic too. She buried herself in the bookshop all afternoon, with supplies from Cooplands, diligently catching up on work and does a fabulous job.

A special thank you to Emma for all her support with this event and thank you to Caitlin and Jess for all the running around last night! Lovely to see authors supporting authors too!

The Betrayal of Thomas True is a very special book so please tell people and make sure those people tell more people.
