💙 Florence and Frank is taking a break 💙 It's taken me a long time to decide whether I would share my news. My pregnancy has been so fragile. So precious. You're told 'It will happen' 'Just stop thinking about it' 'Why don't you go on holiday' As the months go on 'Why don't you JUST do IVF' 'What about fostering?' 'How about adoption?' Then you begin the process. The constant tests, the gut wrenching wait for phone calls. The months and months of waiting in between consultants. The bright lights of the rooms where you're told it's never going to happen. Birthdays go by, you realise it's been two years. Your friends pregnancy announcements which are bittersweet. Your business starts to suffer because you then are filled with a wash of chemicals. Different injections that will change your body, your brain. You sit in a room full of beautiful parents and babies and people wonder why you're distant, but your eyes are glossed over and wondering 'Will this ever be me?' 'Why do you run baby groups when you're not even a mum?' 'How old are you? Why don't you have children?' 'Oh it took me X amount of months to get pregnant I know how you feel'. Infertility affects 1 in four. Infertility can include problems with both partners. Infertility requires support and empathy. We're not always looking for solutions because sometimes there aren't any. (Continued in comments)
