Happy Boss’s Day! Yep, it’s a thing, so today I’d like to give a shout-out to the BEST boss I’ve ever had.
⁣
ME 😊
⁣
With the exception of 18 or so months spent working at an agency for the second-best boss I’ve known, I’ve been the boss of me since my daughter was born in December 2000.
⁣
For two decades, I’ve been in control of my own work culture — one that honours the importance of family, mental health, vacation time, midday dog walks, all-day snacking, personal growth, evolution, and so much more. Granted, I don’t have a steady pay check, and the benefit plan kind of (royally) sucks, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
⁣
How about you, my fellow solo-preneurs? I know times are hard right now. The employed as well as the self-employed are feeling vulnerable in light of what’s happening in the world. Notwithstanding, are you willing to celebrate yourself for being the bestest, kindest, baddest-assiest boss you’ve ever had?
⁣
Reply below or give this a share. Be sure to tag me if you do. That’s the only way I’ll know you’re spreading the good vibes!

Ultimate Coworking Day was a success! 🎉
A big thank you 🙏 to our participants. We were grateful to spend the day with you.

We spent the day coworking together, focused and checking off big tasks on our to-do lists! It’s amazing what you can get done in a day when you are guided through work sprints, nourishing yourself, being mindful with no interruptions and being in a room of supportive people. The energy was fantastic.

We enjoyed lentil soup and jackfruit tacos 🌮 from @kis_kitchen and the yummiest dessert ever!

Some participants tried out the cell phone jail and found that they didn’t miss their phone at all. There were lots of helpful ideas shared in our mini mastermind session.
One of my fave moments of the day was when Karen said (at the end of a work sprint), “I finished my book!” 🙌 🙌
Can’t wait to do it again in March!.

A different perspective today, at #CAWEE monthly breakfast at @hothouserestaurant. Great presentations from Terri McDougall & @drvonhagen to learn about #financialplanning through #divorce & #naturopathicmedicine respectively. Some photos from Heather Freed. Lots of great takeaways! #womeninbusiness #womenentrepreneurs #businessnetworking

My favourite #CAWEEnet events are always the #RoundTable. This month, Denise Roberston from @millsandmillsllp spoke to us about the differences between #incorporation & being #selfemployed. We learned so much during our delicious #italian lunch at #Spiga. Thank you, ladies!
