🥋 A SPECIAL VISIT TO RACER JIU JITSU

What an honor to have Professor James Boran at Racer Jiu Jitsu for our Grand Opening. 🥋🔥

Professor Boran is not only my instructor and the man who awarded me my black belt, but an important part of the lineage and history that helped shape my Jiu Jitsu journey.

Having him there to celebrate this milestone with us made the day even more meaningful. From the beginning, lineage, respect, and passing Jiu Jitsu on to the next generation have been at the heart of Racer Jiu Jitsu.

The journey continues. The lineage lives on.

Thank you, Professor Boran, for being there and for everything you’ve given me through Jiu Jitsu.

Huge shout out to @panchos.pictures for supporting us and for the awesome photos🙏🏼

🥋 THANK YOU, TEHACHAPI!

What an incredible day for Racer Jiu Jitsu. We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to celebrate our Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Having our friends, family, teammates, and community there meant more to us than we can put into words.

A special thank you to @panchos.pictures for coming up and taking incredible photos and supporting our grand opening, and to my professor @boranjiujitsu for his continued guidance, friendship, and for being such an important part of my Jiu Jitsu journey.

Racer Jiu Jitsu is built on tradition, lineage, respect, and the belief that Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. Opening these doors is more than starting a gym—it’s the beginning of building something that we hope will positively impact our community for generations.

To everyone who has supported us, trained with us, shared our posts, joined our team, or simply believed in what we are building:

Thank you. This is only the beginning.

🥋 Learning, growing, and having fun on the mats! 💚🖤

Jiu-Jitsu teaches our kids so much more than technique—it builds confidence, discipline, resilience, and respect while giving them a place to challenge themselves and support one another.

At Boran, we’re building strong athletes and even stronger character. 🥋💪

This week, we are proud to recognize Larson Pringle as our student of the week🌟

Larson began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey at just 6 years old. Since then, he has continued to develop not only as a competitor, but as a young man who embodies the values we strive to teach on the mats: respect, responsibility, focus, and perseverance.
Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, Larson enjoys reading, and his favorite subject in school is Latin. 📚 His thoughtful and observant nature is evident both in the classroom and on the mat. He is often quiet, but he is always paying attention, learning, and taking in every detail.

Larson has proudly represented Boran Jiu-Jitsu in four competitions, with another competition ahead this October. His favorite submission is the Kimura, and when he steps onto the competition mat, his calm and composed approach truly stands out. He remains cool under pressure, patiently reads his opponent, and waits for the right moment to act.

There is something powerful about a student who doesn’t need to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact. Larson reminds us that strength can be quiet, confidence can be humble, and progress comes from consistently showing up and putting in the work.

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Luis Reyes! 👏

At just 16 years old and heading into his junior year of high school, Luis has already shown us what commitment, discipline, and a true desire to grow look like.

Luis joined Boran Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu just 6 months ago, and he has been putting in the work ever since. He trains 5 days a week, attending the Older Kids class and staying afterward to train with the Adults. 💪

Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, Luis enjoys archery 🏹 — another hobby that takes patience, focus, and precision.

🥋 Favorite submission: Mount to Triangle Choke

Luis is currently preparing for his FIRST Jiu-Jitsu competition this fall! 🏆 We’re so excited to watch him step onto the competition mats and put his hard work to the test.

Help us wish Luis the best of luck! 🍀

We’re proud to have you as part of the Boran family, Luis! 🥋
