SHOP SMALL in Old Town YV & help support small businesses like ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Please join us Nov 30th for a fun Makers Mart featuring booths by our creative friends. The amazing band Los Poncho Tones will be playing music while you hang out. There will also be a special spot to get pics with Santa! Perfect for making last minute holiday cards.
We will also be supporting Border Kindness with a Toy Drive, gifts can be dropped off here (click link @borderkindness to help thousands of families stay warm, laugh, this holiday season! )
💚We will also have a section for cheap bins and racks (yep we cleared out the storage space and it’s time to let a bunch of stuff go! $5 items and less )

Also excited to host @citlali_tamales and @nomada_by_delicias @delicias_mexican_cuisine for yummy food & festive drinks.

The following is a collection of over-the-counter medications carried by migrants confiscated after being apprehended and taken to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing where I worked at for 11 years. Items considered non-essential or potentially lethal were subject to seizure and thrown in the trash. The NYTimes featured an excellent article about my years long project titled El Sueno Americano / The American Dream which is currently on view at the Boise Art Museum through February 9, 2025. Here's a link to the article. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/24/arts/tom-kiefer-migrants-exhibit-boise.html

The beautiful thing about Water Drops is not only doing something that's bigger than yourself and putting others' needs above your own. But, also meeting amazing people along the way. Each time, I learn more about the things that go on at the border that I never knew or thought of. I learn from the experience, but from the stories of each individual. It's amazing that so many take the time to do the work and help make a difference in people's lives when they are in their toughest times of their lives. Thank you, @borderkindness for allowing me to be a part of these water drops & thank you for all you do!#elpueblounidojamasseravencido #sisepuede #waterdrops #humanitarian

Divisiveness is at an all time high, and the strength of our character is sometimes the only bridge we have to cross over! World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998 to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on #november13th as part of the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the U.A.E. World Kindness Day presents us with the opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important and unifying human principles. On a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness, try to promote and diffuse this crucial quality that brings people of every kind together.

I am indescribably grateful for the support at the weekend. I couldn't have done it without some of the great friends that helped me and everyone that showed up.

I feel like it is important when we are eating well and having a good time to remember that there are many far less fortunate. This is a tiny gesture but the ocean is made of drops.

Peace and love forever. 🙏
