A lot goes on behind the scenes of a cafe to bring customers more sustainable options. Previously a new bookshop owner, Emily from @thepressbookhouse is now the proud owner of a very preloved bookish cafe. She's working hard with other businesses such as @circularorganics , @borrowbyhuskee , @bec_bowie_ to ensure that The Press is treading as light as possible on our environment.

Pop into @thepressbookhouse , as well as follow them on insta and facebook - you'll love the cosy feel of the space. Inside the cafe, have a seat, browse the books, and enjoy a board game. Otherwise, be one of the first customers to hold a new @borrowbyhuskee for your takeaway coffees. It would mean the world to Emily if you mentioned that you found out about the cafe through this video. This is one way that verified social enterprise ReNewy Living is connecting you to small businesses that are doing good for a healthier planet.

ReNewy Living is supporting #NSWSmallBusinessMonth this October. #renewyliving #celebratinglocalsustainability #sustainablecafe #thepressbookhouse.

Particle is proud to announce three wins at the @gooddesignaus Awards 2026.

- Best in Class: Omnidirectional Widefield Locator (OWL), developed with Australian Astronomical Optics (AAO)
- Winner: SensAI, developed with Matter
- Winner: @borrowbyhuskee by Huskee, developed with @huskee and @fossick.studio

From space instrumentation to floodwater sensing to reusable cup return bins, each project started with a close collaboration and a shared ambition to get the design right.

Whether the technology is still being invented or ready to scale, our work is about understanding it first, then giving it a form that elevates the innovation to make it usable in the real world.

Thank you to our clients and collaborators for their trust, to everyone at Particle who helped bring these projects to life, and to Good Design Australia and the jury for the recognition.

Going to Marrickville Markets this weekend? You can now enjoy your morning brew single-use cup free! ☕🌱

Here’s how easy it is to @borrowbyhuskee:
1️⃣ Get ready: Download the Borrow app beforehand or scan the QR code at participating coffee stalls to order straight in your browser.
2️⃣ Order: Get your coffee served in a reusable Borrow cup.
3️⃣ Return: Drop your empty cup into any designated Borrow return bin (found near coffee stalls and market exits). We’ll collect, wash and recirculate them!

Ditch the disposable cup and join the reusable swap system this Sunday. ♻️💚

Your Sunday coffee is getting a glow up at Marrickville Food & Farmers Market. ☕ On Sunday 11 October, we're teaming up with @borrowbyhuskee to bring reusable cups to the market's coffee stalls.

It's simple: borrow a cup with your coffee, enjoy it while you shop, then drop it back when you're done. Borrow collects, washes and brings them back for the next round. No bin, no waste.

Keep an eye out next week for exactly how it works. Who's in? 🙋
