Back on the dublab.cat airwaves from the tiny but intentionally productive @hangar_org studio, featuring a highly slick guest known by the artistic name of @otomundi. ótomundi (b. 2000) is an Angolan/Andalusian crossdisciplinary artist, working with music, performance, filmmaking and painting. “His practice is grounded in an intercultural perspective that investigates the depth of the human evolution by expanding into world ancestral spirituality, neo-gnosticism, and the seeking of universal consciousness. His work proposes audiovisual reinterpretations of traditional myths and customs through a modern lens that regards the often-overlooked, ancestral belief systems as temporal compasses for human-earth harmony and as generative sources of a nostalgic imagination that moves the soul closer to original state. ótomundi constructs collective symbolic memories through the values of a shared creative universe that welcomes diverse spiritual expressions, cross-cultural hybridisation, astrophysical experimentation, and a radical adoption of a love - and faith-based experience.” This Friday, from 18:00 to 19:00, @otomundi will personally share his distinctive and diasporic vision of embracing life. He will premiere his latest composition, “Euvim,” with Crescent City trombonist @kalebsummers.s (you’ll hear keyboards though). Finally, @boscoullloa will be in charge of visually recording “The Journey” for dublab.cat site, on May 8th, 18:00–19:00.
