Spent this sunny and remarkably windy afternoon patrolling the Fraser Foreshore Trail over by the River District in the southeast corner of Vancouver. ☀️💨

We strolled along the elevated dyke trail specifically engineered to protect local residents from potential rogue waves rolling in along the Fraser River North Arm. 🌊🏗️

With my tongue proudly hanging out — not because I was hot, but purely for maximum aerodynamic sniffing efficiency — I absorbed every single scent of nature with my elite senior senses. 👅👃

Life as a thirteen-year-old salt and pepper purebred master of the outdoors is truly exhausting work, but somebody has to make sure this river district stays safe and chic. 👑🐾

All pets who live in South Vancouver or South Burnaby, or visit the River District, (including pets who have passed away) are welcome, multiple pet households can include all pets❤️

Thank you to everyone who donated to Heart & Soul Dog & Cat Rescue Society at Roxy’s party on Sunday 💗
It was important to us to give back to the community and help other adoptable pets in need.

We have some wonderful prizes that were generously donated by the community. (See the following slides).

Act I: The Pivot of 1986 In 1986, following a abrupt shift in the financial sector—wherein the Teachers Credit Union was swallowed whole by Vancity—my father found himself uncoupled from his executive desk. A self-made hero who bypassed university entirely, he had ascended from a modest Bank of Montreal teller to CEO on sheer grit and meticulous suits.

Enter my mother. While browsing a modest 7-Eleven plaza at 53rd and Victoria Drive, she uttered a casual, nine-word inquiry: “You ever think about selling this place?”

Thirty days later, the deed was signed. We owned a Bosley’s Pet Foods franchise.

Act II: The Alleyway Catalyst Ostensibly, a pet store deals in kibble. In practice, ours was the origin point of my entire social universe.

It began with Joe, who lived directly across the alley from our back door. That single proximity ignited a domino effect of destiny: pool tables were frequented, Darcy and Johnny were acquired, a pickup truck changed hands to Dave, and suddenly, an unbreakable inner circle was forged. My entire modern group of friends traces back to that single alleyway introduction behind the store.

Act III: The Horological Relic The shop still stands under new custodianship, but the true treasure resides right here.

Presented today: a wonderfully specific artifact of corporate sentimentality—a gold-toned quartz timekeeper bestowed upon my parents by Bosley’s Head Office for a decade of service. It ticks with dramatic, rhythmic precision, reminding us that an entire lifetime of friendship can begin behind a neighborhood pet shop. 🐶⌚️

We are truly overwhelmed by all the love and RSVPs we’ve received so far, and we’re getting very close to capacity for Roxy’s celebration. 🥹
