So if you know my bestie @bossdrissy then you know she LOVES flowers!! Today I suprised her with a trip to Parque de Flores where there’s a dedicated floral market. One thing about Cartagena I didn’t expect was the lack of florals available. You have to go to this market or an actual florist for flowers and limited groceries carry them. After our little trip we found @lostacosdelgordoctg and they did noooot disappoint! We got Al pastor, chicken tinga quesadilla & fish tacos. Of course I got a classic marg! #cartagena #cartagenacolombia #cartagenadeindias #flores #parquedeflores

Week 3 is officially in the books… and somehow there’s only 10 days left on this adventure. 🥹🇨🇴 This week was definitely a little slower than the first two, but honestly… I needed it. We got our weekly grocery shopping done, walked just about everywhere, and settled into our little routine: walk, pool, beach, repeat. 🌊 In true Tay Ann fashion, I made a new friend. 😂 She let us enjoy her jacuzzi, which we’ve learned is apparently very different from a hot tub. There’s no heated water—it stays at whatever temperature Mother Nature decides that day. I guess they let the Colombian sun do all the heating. ☀️ One evening, the lightning completely stopped me in my tracks. It looked like it was striking just beyond the water, and as dramatic as it was, it was absolutely beautiful. Millz also wrote mine and @bossdrissy names in Korean. 🥹 I love seeing their interest in languages grow. I guess the language gene really did get passed down. ❤️ We FINALLY found our favorite karaoke spot from our April 2026 trip— @rebelioncocktails ! And yes… y’all already know I had to bless the microphone with another Selena song. Some traditions simply must be respected. 🎤😂 Honorable mentions: 🌊 The ridiculously big waves that humbled me. 🦀 The crab that got away. 🍗 More incredible fried chicken. 🏛️ And exploring El Centro… …which absolutely deserves its own post.. It’s crazy to think this month is almost over. Cartagena has felt less like a vacation and more like getting to borrow a different version of everyday life for a little while. 😂🇨🇴 This was definitely one of those days where we didn’t have a time, but a time had us. Me, @bossdrissy, and @moneygaines spent the day at 📍Cholón, and since I only got to wear my birthday sash once, I figured… why not give her another appearance. 💁🏽‍♀️ This was my third visit to Cholón, and somehow it never gets old. Getting there is part of the adventure—you hop on a speedboat, and by the time you pull up, the party has already started. Music is coming from every direction, yachts and boats are anchored side by side, people are dancing in the water, and yes… they’ll bring your food and drinks right to your table while you’re standing waist-deep in the Caribbean. Fun fact: Cholón has become one of Cartagena’s most famous party destinations because boats anchor together in its calm, shallow water, creating what’s essentially a floating day club. It’s one of the few places where the party happens just as much in the water as it does on land. The drinks weren’t as cheap as the mainland, but they were definitely more affordable than some of the beach clubs on the surrounding islands. One tip from your friendly traveling stoner buddy: if you 💨🍃, you’re gonna want to BYO. (Unfortunately, you can’t BYO alcohol on the island.) Our excursion included morning transportation to the marina, stops at three beach clubs (including Cholón), and lunch. Just a heads-up: you’ll need to find your own transportation home from the marina afterward, so plan for that before you head out. One running theme from this trip is that the locals will totally pass me the aux. DJ Taylormade has been in full effect, especially once the drinks start tasting like, “Y’all about to hear what I want to hear.” 😂 Good thing I have excellent taste in music. Would I come back for a fourth time? Without even thinking about it. Keep swiping for the chaos! 💋 FAFO.

Week 2 in Cartagena was… a movie. 🇨🇴✨ Somehow we packed more into seven days than should’ve been humanly possible. Finally found legit Mexican food at 📍Taco Taco, grabbed freshly made drinks on 📍Playa Marbella, and did a grocery haul from 📍 @experienciasmegatiendas because, apparently, grocery shopping is fun when you’re in another country. You’ll notice I’m always walking to the grocery store. 😂 We accidentally stumbled into a live DJ recording at📍 @singapurcartagena (@djbryanflorez) , found 📍Centro Comercial Bocagrande (which was probably dangerous for my wallet), spent 4 a.m. nights in 📍Getsemaní with new friends, and enjoyed brunch and a swim at 📍CasaMulata Friday night we took a Chiva Rumbera, and I completely understand why it’s one of Cartagena’s most iconic nightlife experiences. Fun fact: Chivas were originally colorful buses used to transport people through Colombia’s mountain towns. Cartagena turned them into rolling dance parties, complete with music, lights, and enough energy to make traffic feel like part of the celebration. Cholón party island is definitely getting its own post. 😂 We wrapped up the week with Sunday Funday and some of the best fried chicken we’ve had yet—two plates (2 breasts, 2 quarters. & French fries) and 2 drinks for just 41,000 COP (about $13 USD). I forgot to make mumbo sauce with this… but don’t worry, this definitely wasn’t the last time that chicken spot was gonna see me. 😂 There’s honestly more that happened in seven days than I can fit into one post, but these are a few of the highlights. Follow my Stories for the real-time updates that don’t always make the page. 😉

If Cartagena knows how to do one thing, it’s stay outside. 🌴✨ A couple of our favorite nights were spent wandering through Getsemaní and San Diego—two neighborhoods with completely different vibes, but both worth experiencing. Getsemaní is where the city comes alive. Colorful murals, live music on every corner, street performers, rooftop bars, dancing in the plazas, and somehow everybody ends up outside. It used to be a working-class neighborhood and has grown into one of Cartagena’s most vibrant cultural hubs without losing its personality. San Diego is a little slower. Think colorful colonial streets, boutique hotels, hidden cafés, and candlelit dinners tucked behind centuries-old buildings. It’s the kind of place where you accidentally spend hours just walking around because every corner looks like a postcard. One thing I love about Cartagena is that the nightlife doesn’t always mean clubs. Sometimes it’s grabbing a drink, people-watching in the plaza, listening to live music, and letting the city do the entertaining for you. Safe to say… Cartagena has me spoiled.🇨🇴✨

Rosario Islands… this is our third time seeing each other, and somehow you still know how to surprise me. 🌊😂 This was my third trip to Las Islas del Rosario, and it honestly never gets old. We booked our excursion through GetYourGuide, hopped on a speedboat, and spent the day exploring three different beach clubs. One of my favorite things about the islands is the water. In one day, you’ll see deep emerald green, crystal-clear green, bright turquoise, and that unreal Caribbean blue that barely looks real. Fun fact: Las Islas del Rosario is a protected national park made up of dozens of coral islands and one of Colombia’s most important coral reef ecosystems. The water is this clear because of the healthy reefs and the absence of river sediment in the area. 🌎🐠 Now… about that ride back. The yellow warning flag was flying, which basically meant the sea wasn’t playing around. We went from sipping cocktails in paradise to holding on for dear life as the speedboat bounced over some very serious waves. 😂 10/10 experience. 10/10 scenery. 0/10 core workout I didn’t sign up for. Would I do it again? Absolutely. 💋 FAFO

Pop Up Pastries popped up at the American Poetry Museum in support of the Venezuela fundraiser. Poetry reminds us that no matter what language we speak or what country we call home, compassion is a language we all understand. To every poet who shared their truth, every artist who gave their gift, every guest who showed up, donated, and stood in solidarity—thank you. You reminded us that community is created one act of kindness at a time. Special love to Camilio for bringing this beautiful vision together and to @bomberosucv for the life-changing work you’re doing. Your service is inspiring. My grandmother taught me how to bake, but the poetry community taught me that every customer is family. That’s why every Cakette we serve carries the same secret ingredient: Love Cakettes in the Community. Because the sweetest thing we can ever make… is hope. Pop Up Pastries a.k.a. Poetry Pastries The Official Pastries for Poetry & Spoken Word. A family company. A community mission. A whole lot of love. 🧁❤️ #PopUpPastries #PoetryPastries #CakettesInTheCommunity #AmericanPoetryMuseum #SupportVenezuela
