The Last Duo It Again at The Lyric Hyperion was a blast! ⁣
⁣
We had 26 duos and 51 performers and a packed house! ⁣
⁣
We had a good mix of regulars, old friends, and people doing the show for the very first time. ⁣
⁣
The energy was electric! ⁣
⁣
We did a show focused on The Odyssey that devolved into a show about family, fatherhood, and Costco. ⁣
⁣
It was surreal and meta while being grounded and connected - you had to be there! ⁣
⁣
Alas, I’m going to miss The Lyric Hyperion. ⁣
⁣
You can really feel the roar and warmth of an audience at The Lyric. You’re in another world inside the theater because it amplifies your attention and presence - both as audience and performer - so you’re able to get lost in the show and have fun. ⁣
⁣
Big thanks to Sean Casey and The Lyric Hyperion for giving us a home for so many years and for making the Lyric a magical place. I encourage you to go check out their programming or stop by their cafe for a latte! ⁣
⁣
Duo It Again is not going away though! ⁣
⁣
I’m announcing the location for Duo It Again 47 later today! ⁣
⁣
A few more Thank You’s! ⁣
⁣
I’m super grateful to every performer who has done the show - I cannot do the show without each and every one of you. ⁣
⁣
And I’m super grateful to all the audience members who have watched the show! ⁣
⁣
And I’m super grateful to all the people who have come to watch the show and then want to do the show! And they do it! That’s special right there! I don’t know how many shows can boost such a proven audience-to-performer pipeline like this one. ⁣
⁣
And I’m just SO PROUD that we’ve been able to put up so many performers throughout the years - it takes a village. And I’m grateful to my Duo It Again village for making this show happen and keeping it alive. ⁣
⁣
Special thanks to my sister Melissas Funes for designing the Duo It Again poster.
⁣
And special thanks to Kristen Gull for being my FernGully ride or die and hosting the show with me. ⁣
⁣
And now onto the next one! 4 more episodes to 50 shows! ⁣
