Not your typical Taylor Tuesday. We’re going Tom’s Town Double Oak this week. Also, can we just sit here and admire this bottle eye 🍭 for just one second? 😍

🎃Just 👀 at it!👻

‘‘Twas the night before @kybourbonfest ………

One final pour before Thursday’s road-trip begins. Time to pack up the remaining bottles to share and get rested for the festivities.

Cheers🥃

Funnily enough, I picked up this Pac-Northwest whiskey in Tampa Florida, which is about as far from the distillery pretty much in the US.

Nevertheless, I had been to the distillery years prior l and liked what I had tried, so a seven year old single malt finished in Cognac Cask certainly caught my attention 🥃

Bull Run is a small-batch craft distillery in Portland, Oregon, founded in 2010, who produce a variety of spirits, including whiskey, gin, and rum. Bull Run Distillery is one of the leading craft distilleries in the Pacific Northwest.

Admittedly a sucker for an age statement. Jim Beam’s Black Double Aged used to carry an 8 Year age statement. I have yet to try its younger brother, the Triple Age 6 Year.

Around 2015 Beam dropped the “8 Year” for just “XA” (extra aged) and in its current form, it’s just called Jim Beam “Black”.

I stocked up on these, finding them quite enjoyable. An easy, daily dram with plenty of great flavor offered up with the nicely aged bourbon. It has become increasingly rare to find an 8 Year bourbon under $25, so finding these was a fun grab.

Anyone have any thoughts on this old guy?

Not 100% done, but these toys were collected during our White Elephant Bottle Exchange. The generosity of our group continues to amaze me as we help a variety of charities in our area. These will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.

Kicking off this F-rye-day and holiday weekend with Restoration Rye Single Barrel.

This pour really took me by surprise. On the nose I got gin type aromas, very botanical with juniper/pine and lemon notes.

The palate came through with sweet oak, peppery rye spice and finished with tons of dill. I’m pretty impressed with this bottle.
