Proud to sponsor James Bowie High School Marching Band this year @bowiehsband as they march toward Grand Nationals in November.

In high school marching band, a parent "pit crew" helps get equipment for the non-marching musicians on and off the field -- we pushed drum major stands, synth carts, percussion racks, marimbas and other misc gear in and out of a dozen stadiums from San Antonio to Waco in our band / colorguard parent years.

I taught Bowie's parent pit crew a Pilates-inspired warm up before their football game load in. Our standing exercises included hip hinges, rolldowns, one leg balances, and borrowed a few rowing exercises from the reformer including hug and shave. Also borrowed a couple of arm-back exercises from arc/barrel repertoire.

Good skill to all who perform and compete this football (marching band) season!

So thankful to the Bowie Football Booster and Bowie’s Football coaches for allowing us the opportunity to support you!!! We are excited to partner with Bowie as much as we can. We are so proud of all the hard working teens at Bowie!!!

Coaches, thank you for supporting our young men who come through your program. The lesson you teach them will stay with them for life. Your passion, love and care for your players helps them grow into the men they are becoming…men we can all be proud of. Thank you!!!

And a special thank you to the moms who love, guide, challenge, and support their sons… we see you…well done moms!!!

CALLING ALL BANDS - WE HAVE AN URGENT SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT!

UPDATE: In the interest of student safety, the Capital City Marching Festival STRONGLY ENCOURAGES all bands to perform in ‘summer uniform’ or bibbers-only during prelims. Our adjudication panel will be aware of this recommendation.

If advancing, uniforms may be worn for finals performances as WBGT values are forecasted to drop to a safe level by the start of finals.

Safety first, everyone!

❤️🖤 Bowie Football loves our Bowie Band!

The Bowie Band has worked tirelessly on this year’s show, Blue World Symphony, and we’ve loved watching it develop! We appreciate the energy, spirit and support our Band brings under the Friday night lights. Tonight, it’s our turn to cheer for them!

Join Bowie football families and our community tonight at 7 p.m. at Toney Burger Stadium for the AISD Marching Band Jamboree.

Good luck, Bowie Band! Your Bowie Football family is cheering you on! 🏈🎶
