IMNZ 2025

🏊‍♀️ I knew I wouldn’t be up the front in the water (WIP aye @lvwaquatics) but I was happy with my swim, stayed calm and locked in on my strengths - picking off places where I knew I could; T1 and on the bike. I focused on drafting and followed feet in the swim, coming out 7th, ⬆️3 places in T1 and then ⬆️2 places 15KM into the ride.

🚲 The goal for the bike was to stay within myself, ride to goal, don’t override lap one knowing lap two would be tough, Broadlands Road didn’t make it easy at the turnaround at Reporoa - she was windy and heartbreak 💔 hill was out there crushing souls but the adrenaline rushed back through me knowing I was so close to town once I hit the race track. Leading the AG coming into T2.

🏃🏼‍♀️ The first lap of the run was great, body felt great, legs felt great, thought I was in for a good marathon but I couldn’t take any nutrition in other than water and started to feel a dizzy, almost immediately. A quick sit down with the medics, multiple cups of water into me, I was back on my feet. It wasn’t the run I had trained for or planned but I got it done and only loosing one place throughout the process.

Hitting the red carpet 2nd in the AG with a 16 minute PB up my sleeve was a bit surreal in the moment.

Am I stoked with the result? No
Will there be a redemption race entered? 100%

The support on course was magic 🪄so a massive shoutout to everyone being there as without you all, my day could have ended a lot differently. The support never goes unnoticed, even though I wasn’t my usual happy self during the run.

Another qualification to IM World Championships in Kona 🌺 later this year although made a very very hard decision to turn my slot down. Sometimes it’s not about the race but the people that make the race experience incredible so this year ill be heading away with an amazing NZ team to the World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong for the Standard Tri, Sprint Tri and MTR 🇳🇿

IM Redemption Pending..

Taupo 70.3 was a race I went into to set a benchmark for myself after a racing hiatus due to injuries. Every moment racing again was surreal, and to do it in a country I have wanted to visit since I was a kid was magical.

Qualifying for the 70.3 World Champs in Marbella, Spain meant a lot to me, but even more to that kid who dreamed of it from a hospital bed years ago 🫶

The amount of support I receive from everyone continues to amaze me but no one supports my crazy goals and dreams more than @liv_blanche ❤️

Huge thanks to my coach @markbowtri for all his guidance, feedback, experience and belief in me.

Looking forward to continuing building from here 💪
