POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
🇬🇧 Back in 2004, I produced my very first track as a duo: “M. Stacey.”

The story behind the name is quite funny. At the time, I was working on building permits and received a negative decision on a land-clearing permit because Mr. Stacey’s property had too many trees.

At the same time, we needed a vocal for the track. So I wrote a few lines — half true, half psychedelic — recorded my own voice, and “M. Stacey” was born.

Soon after, we created “Dunufus.” Back then, we burned our demos onto CDs and sent them to labels by post. Boxer Recordings replied… and that’s where everything really started.

More than 20 years later, Apollonia are still playing “M. Stacey.” And I’m still trying to stay true to that musical aesthetic that has followed me since those early days of house and electro.

Thank you Apollonia for this little reminder. Looking back feels good — and makes you want to keep creating and moving forward. ❤️
