A lesson in humility 🥊

Boxing is not a sport.....it's combat

You have to train to be able to protect yourself inside the ring. Everytime 2 prepared fighters step into the ring 1 fighter will get the best of another fighter.....by punching 👊🏿 them.

For people who grew up fighting....hitting someone else or getting hit is second nature.

But for someone who did not grow up fighting getting hit can be very scary.

It doesn't take as much force as you'd think to stun a man or to knock someone out....and fear causes paralysis.

@wolfpack2712 did not prepare for this fight....it seems his focus....was promotion 🤔

@smoke_road__toe did exactly what he said he was going to do....and boy...did he smoke 🚬 Wolf's boots quick 🤜🏾😵

When it comes to boxing you can't fake it and make it 💯

Surviving 2021 🙏🏾💯

On July 31st I walked into @oldschoolboxing_dmv
with some things on my mind, looking for a heavy bag to hit.💯🥊

By December 31st, boxing had become a life-long love story and passion. The gym, becoming a home away from home, and the coaches, trainers, and other boxers becoming peers, allies and respected associates. 💯🥊

Men, women, kids, teenagers, young and old.... all sharing a common goal.....the desire to learn, to improve, to be healthy, to compete and to one day..through hard work and dedication....master the sweet science (impossible) 💯🥊

I thought I'd get a good workout and learn a new skill.🎯

But @oldschoolboxing_dmv opened my eyes to an entire world that made sense to me, that offered an outlet for my negative energy, a challenge to overcome, an environment that fostered growth and development and the possibility....of more 💯🥊

In 2022......if you don't do anything else.
Do what makes you happy 😊 🥊💯

Details with @boxingdmason 🥊

Having processed all the new information I received from sparring @lambothegreat1 's jabs it was time to tweak some things and make adjustments on my end.

The big take away from sparring with @lambothegreat1 was that you can't get caught leaning forward when you're punching💯, and you've got to strike quick and sturdy without getting stuck in cement🧏🏾‍♂️, you've got to get out of range and get those hands up just as fast....🤜🏾👀

Trading punches and standing in front of a fighter with that type of power and hand speed is a great way to meet the man upstairs sooner than later...😈

The reality of @lambothegreat1's power will force you think about just how much your willing to commit to the punches 👊🏿 you're trying to land 🥊....because you know that counter is coming back at you quick...and if it lands....it's going to hit like a ton of bricks 🤜🏾🥺🤯

@lambothegreat1 has reiterated over and over that footwork is the only way.....💯

@boxingdmason reminded me that I need to be distributing my weight onto my back leg🦵🏾when working around an opponent.....instead of the front leg which I had been doing....😲...remember that part about not being stuck in cement.....🤔

Angels & Demons 😇 😈

The DMV Paradox...🥊💯

Who you know..🤫
Who you are.....🤔

Versus......

What you can do..🎯

This man claims to be the best heavyweight fighter in the region...he's had an open sparring invitation out to all heavyweight boxers and mma fighters in the area for the past 6 months....I'm really starting to ask myself why a personal trainer is the only one willing to accept that as a challenge.🤔🤷🏾‍♂️

What does that mean......for pro boxing?

Is this dude full of shit or telling the truth?

And why doesn't anyone want to find out?

Step into the ring🥊💯

@lambothegreat1.....jabs only🥊

(Thank God🙏🏾)
